Kailey made her way down the winding roads of Hogsmead and into the alley that turned into Knockturn. She needed to get that poison. Why? Because less then a week ago her older sister was taken away for the Muggle games, her brothers had passed away due to sudden illnesses and on top of that, her parents...her lovely parents were dead. Kailey had gone through it all, acting as if nothing was wrong. The ministry declared her under the guardianship of Jonathan Doom and Alissa Doom. Kailey had no say in the matter, and of course, she was also looking after her niece December.
Kailey walked into the store and spoke up. "Excuse me? Do you have any death potions?" she asked the storekeeper. The storekeeper peered over her glasses at the girl and simply humphed and handed her a vial. "It'll take all your pain and misery away." Kailey nodded her head and said "How much?" "50 Galleons and 10 Sickles." Kaileys eyes widened and shook her head. "Much to pricey for me." "Then no death for you." the woman said and snatched the vial back.
The next thing Kailey knew she was facing her newly appointed guardian, and he didn't look to happy. "Oh..umm Hi." she whispered. She noticed Samantha there as well, and December beside her. Boy what a predicament she was caught in. "It..it wasn't for me?" she tried hoping that he would buy such a story, but knew that the chances of that were slim.

Knockturn Alley wasn't typically a place Jon would spend much time. He actually hated the place with a fiery passion. His family had spent a great deal of time there when he was a young Wizard, and he'd hated it then, too. He hated the way people would approach, begging you to buy things that they shouldn't be selling in the first place. He hated the way people would rush through, as though trying to hide something - probably because they were. But he had to be there at that moment. He'd seen Kailey head that way, and there was no way in hell he'd ignore that fact.
He followed her to the shop, Samantha and December trailing behind him, Jonathan Jr at his side holding his hand. He was well aware that he looked out of place there. A Hufflepuff alum, wandering through that place, with three kids at his side. He stood out even more than a sore thumb. But he paid the people staring and whispering no mind. His eyes were set on Kailey as he entered, just in time to hear the exchange between her and the clerk.
Before he even addressed Kailey, his eyes were on the clerk, brow furrowed the way it often was when he was about to chastise someone. "I have a friend who is an auror," he said coolly, "I could easily have you put in Azkaban for a while for even attempting to sell such a potion. Consider that before you try to sell one to a child again," It was only then that he turned to face Kailey, "I don't buy that. Kailey, I know you're going through a lot but... this?" He wasn't sure what to say yet. He knew from experience that situations like this were delicate. He sighed, waiting patiently for her to explain herself.
OOC: Hope you don't mind Junior being there. xD He won't do much, anyway. Kind of a very quiet kid. <.>

Kailey looked at her feet. Not sure of what to say really. He would certainly understand her predicament. Right? "You gotta understand, if Ali dies, I'm left with that that thing and I don't want to be a young mother/guardian whatever you want to call it! I'm a child! Just that a child. I don't want to have to be burden with such responsibility but yet here I am, 12 years old and taking care of her child while she's in a battle of her life. So yes...I don't want to live." she said looking up at him with tears in her eyes.
"I don't want to see another sun rise without my brothers and parents. I am not complete without them. My brothers were my twins...my twins...What am I without them? Who am I?" she asked

He watched her as she looked down at her feet, Junior was tugging slightly at his arm. He couldn't tell whether the kid wanted to go look at something or leave as fast as possible. He chose to believe the latter. Samantha was watching them now, her blue eyes scanning both of them, trying to find her own words. He sighed. "I promise Ali won't die," he said softly. He trusted his school too much to consider that a viable possibility, "They'll heal her up," he thought that was how it worked, anyway. "And even if she did, I promise I wouldn't leave you alone with December."
Would one more responsibility hurt him and Alissa? He doubted it. If anything, it kept their fighting to a minimum. Having kids to focus their attention on helped. It was sick and perhaps wrong, but it helped. Because they both loved kids. And it was their only saving grace. "You're not alone with December," he vowed, "I know this is hard. I can't say I understand what you're going through. Because I don't. It's unique to you. But..." he gestured toward the witch who was eavesdropping on them, "this is not the answer. Why don't we move somewhere private?" he asked just then.

Kailey listened to her god-fathers every word. She grasped at the meaning and understood what he was saying. She wasn't alone in this after all. And if Alina could be as strong as she was being then it was time for her to be strong too. Kailey nodded her head after he asked if she would like to go and talk about this in a more private place. Kailey looked at her niece, the girl had blonde hair like her mother and her mothers eyes too, but had her father's pale complexion.
Kailey didn't remember that much about how December came to be, and who her father was, but she would make sure that she did know in case the girl's mother did pass. But she doubted anything would happen to her. Kailey rubbed her eyes and looked at the little boy that was pulling at her god-father's sleeve. "Yea, lets go." she said

It was often hard speaking to children and teenagers, a fact Jonathan would never admit. Sometimes, he just went as it progressed. Saying what felt right, even if he didn't know it was right. Still, Jon had been low enough to consider what she had just considered. Several times. He'd come close on more than one occasion. The last had been three years prior and had resulted in Jacoby smacking him hard across the face. Because of all of that, he did have some empathy for the situation at hand. But not to the point where he completely understand. Nevertheless, he sympathised. And he hoped she knew that.
Either way, Kailey seemed to be listening. She nodded her head in response to his question, eyes drifting between all the kids that were currently under his supervision. It would be tough, and it would keep him busy. But it sure as hell beat monotony. "Come on, then," he instructed as Junior pulled at his sleeve. Samantha followed behind them, his other hand grabbing for December's. The quicker they got out of Knockturn, the better. So, he led them in the direction of Diagon, listening as Samantha began to speak behind him.
OOC: Er, you can either wait for me to post with Sam or go ahead and post, up to you really. ^^

She had been mostly silent as she followed her father into Knockturn Alley. Such behavior was typical of Samantha. She could be outspoken, at times. But she often went the silent route, finding that not speaking a word was safer. A habit she'd developed long ago, after Michelle had passed away. But when she saw Kailey, her concern had started to grow. She remembered meeting her in the library, and knew then that she was her god sister. Things had grown complicated after her parents had passed away. Basically, Samantha went from having no sister for the past seven or so years, to suddenly having a sister again. And it was a big transition to make. Still, she wanted so badly to be close to Kailey. Like those sisters she saw on her mother's favorite TV shows.
She listened to her father and Kailey's exchange, eyes moving to her brother briefly. She remained quiet until they left the shop, following close behind as they headed for Diagon. She allowed her eyes to brush over December before she spoke, addressing Kailey, "Are you okay?" she asked. A dumb question, but one someone might expect from someone so young.

Kailey watched as her niece slipped her hand up to her godfathers. Kailey didn't know what to call him anymore, was she to be adopted and become a Doom? She didn't know. Kailey watched Samantha out of the corner of her eye. The girl had been really quiet, and Kailey had only one real discussion with the girl, finding out that they were godsisters, then becoming more then that due to her parents death. Kailey wondered if she to felt the need to be close? Kailey was so wrapped in her thoughts that she barely heard the question Samantha had asked her.
Kailey pondered for a minute on how to answer it. She wasn't really okay, but she didn't want to make Samantha feel uncomfortable about her presence either. "I'm fine..I'm just a little, well I miss my parents and my brothers awfully much. I love living with you guys, and I look forward into getting to know the family more. I'm more worried about December then myself though..she was awful close to Daddy." Kailey said. " She doesn't really get the whole death thing either.."

Jonathan allowed December to grab his hand, not feeling strange when she did so. After all, he'd had three children, it wasn't a new feeling walking with a little one so close. He glanced back at Kailey as the family - that was what they were now, wasn't it? - walked toward Diagon. He himself didn't know what was going to happen. Then again, Jonathan seldom ever did. He more often than not, impulsively lived in the moment. He heard his daughter speak then, and remained silent as she and Kailey conversed.
Samantha watched Kailey as they walked, still unsure whether she would receive an answer to the question she had asked. She was slightly shocked when she heard Kailey's voice. She said she was fine, but Samantha wasn't sure she believed it. And Jonathan knew that he didn't, but kept his silence for he was not the kind of adult who would interrupt. "It's hard losing family," she replied softly. "I hope you like it with us," she added, not wanting to upset the other much, so thankful for a change of subject, "I don't think anyone gets it. Entirely. I hope she'll be okay."
OOC: Lazy post as I cheated and got two birds with one stone hehe

Kailey didn't know exactly how to reply to her new sister. She understood that Sammie meant well, and was just trying to help her out. She understood that it wasn't going to be easy at all, but she had not just lost her parents, but her brothers too. "I'm sure that I'll get used to living with you guys, and I already love you guys as if you're my family, so it's not going to be to hard to get used to. December may be a little hard though, she's been throwing temper tantrums lately, and well, I don't know how to stop her. Ali usually just gives her whatever she wants, but I'm not all for that. I refuse to do that, even with the circumstances going on."
December waited until she thought Jon wasn't paying attention and looked back at her Aunt and stuck her tongue out at her. Kailey sighed. "December! That's not lady like, now knock it off." she said sternly. December's eyes widened, and started to cry very loudly. "Oh come off it! I didn't even do anything!" she said

OOC: Going to get two birds, one stone again.
"I hope you do," Samantha replied, smiling as warmly as she could. It was still strange being around someone who had lost their parents so recently. Samantha, of course, had dealt with loss herself. But that seemed ages ago now. Before she was Hogwarts age, even. She was trying as hard as she could to be careful of what she said. "We are family now," she replied to her comment about loving them as though they were. "And Daddy will be able to help with that. He knows how to calm a temper tantrum without giving in. At least, he always can for Junior," she said with a chuckle.
December stuck her tongue out when she thought Jon wasn't looking, and Kailey promptly responded. When December started crying, he finally spoke again, "She's right, you know. That wasn't very lady like," He turned to Kailey and his daughter just then as they entered Diagon asking, "Either of you hungry?"

Kailey nodded her head in agreement. She watched her niece closely. When Sammie said that Jon could possibly help with the temper tantrums she couldn't be more then thankful. She wasn't sure if she would be able to handle everything that was going on. All of a sudden,Kailey felt dizzy. Her world spun around and she stopped walking. She knew right then and there that her sugar had to have gone down.
December looked at Jon and sniffled, wiping her eyes dry of her tears with her free hand. "No cares wha she says, no cares! No cares no cares!" December stamped her feet in protest and started to throw a temper tantrum right then and there. But because of Kailey's issue, she couldn't deal with it. "Food..would be great..." she said her words slurring slightly.

Sam kept her gaze on Kailey, curiosity growing slightly. It wasn't long before December was throwing a temper tantrum. She couldn't help but smile slightly, remembering when her brother had done those himself. Jonathan didn't give in. He lifted the toddler up then after she stamped her feet. "There will be none of that," he snapped as Kailey began to speak. "Then let's get food," Jonathan said, "Are you feel all right? How's your sugar levels?" he asked, speaking over December's tantrum.
OOC: Not that great a reply sorry. >< Forgot to reply to this one. Just saw it when checking Sam's threads. If I missed any others, let me know on Yahoo.

Kailey looked at her new guardian and shrugged. "I'm not to sure to be honest. They feel low." she said looking at her niece. Her niece squirmed and wriggled in Jons arms, but obviously couldn't get loose. Kailey was starting to feel dizzy. "I think it's best if we get food soon though, I feel as if I'll be fain..." before she could finish the sentence she was on the ground.
December was wailing her lungs out. "Let me go! You no boss of me!" she yelled.

"All right," Jonathan replied, not letting go of December as she squirmed. He hold on her wasn't too tight, but he sure wasn't going to let her fall. He ignored her wailing and ignored her screaming. He knew well there was no point arguing with a toddler. Alissa had tried, bless her, but it hadn't gotten her far at all. "Then let's go find you some-" he had started to say before she'd fallen to the ground. "Change of plans," he muttered, "Grab onto my arm, Sam," he said as he grabbed Kailey's arm. One quick aparition later, and they were at his house and he waslooking for her medicine.
OOC: Time skip to where he uses it? Or what? I'm not sure. xD
