6th month check up (amanda)

Nerefon had brought Sirius in for check up. It had been a 6 months and she thought that it would be right to bring him in since she hadn't made an appointment for it but she thought it was correct to do. Sirius was fine and healthy for being six months and he was so alert now that he was becoming fascinated with everything going on and was starting to get into everything remotely possible. He was enjoying time at home with the wooden spoons she allowed him to play with and the stuffies she had gotten him which were mainly lions, wolves and other things that she could think of to get him. Sirius had gotten his first two teeth recently which was impressive and Tony was excited that his little one, though not biologically his, was growing up fast.

Sirius was sitting in her lap and playing with one of the little toys she had brought with them when they came here so that he could be distracted while they waited patiently in the waiting room for the nurse. She heard him giggle and she smiled down at him as he open mouthed the toy and kinda chewed on it out of his biting everything now days but he learned pretty fast not to bite people. His hair was a sandy blond at the moment but it would change color every now and then when he got upset, happy, sad, or angry and it would change when he was sleeping as well.

Her hair was a bright blonde - almost yellow - at that moment, as it usually was when she was dealing with her patients. She found that, for some reason, many of them seemed more comfortable around her when it was. It was one of the things she'd grown to love about being a metamorphmagus. She'd learned long ago that it could be useful in her profession. Especially when dealing with children. And that was exactly who she dealt with the most. Pregnant women and children. It was, in many ways,her specialty.

She looked at the name before she went to the waiting room to call it. She recognized it almost instantly, a smile spreading her face. She had met Nerefon and Sirius in the Muggle park some time ago. She couldn't remember just how old he had been then, just that he and his mother were metamorphmagi the same as her. She stepped into the waiting room, papers in hand as she called out his name, "Sirius?" eyes scanning the occupants of the room. They landed on Nerefon and her baby. He was currently biting on a toy that he held. She approached them instantly, offering her hand, "It's so nice to see you again. Follow me and we can get the check up started."

Nerefon watched Sirius as he continued to chew on his toy. There was no doubt in her mind that what she did was right, she could never have had an abortion with him for he was her pride and joy and he was the best choice that she could have made. Yes, she wished that she would have thought better but looking back now and to this moment, she was glad that she had Sirius no matter at what cost. She ruffled his hair and he looked up at her still chewing and giggled slightly and bounced on her lap, which made her smile even more when he did that. She had brought his favorite stuffy, a sock monkey that Tony had given him and she had to remember to bring it or Sirius would get upset if he didn't have his stuffy with and the way a person would realize when he was angry was his hair turned bright red.

Sirius looked up at her again looking at how her hair was, which was bright turquoise and looked at her eyes which were her moss green. He tilted his head and his hair changed and his eyes were the same color. Nerefon smiled down at him kissing his forehead and was thankful that they were in a wizarding hospital instead of a muggle one since it would be a real shock to first see a baby with bright blue eyes and sandy blond hair and then now a turquoise haired moss green eyed baby. At least here it wouldn't be such a dramatic shock since it was magic based but their gift was really rare anyway.

"Sirius your lucky we aren't in a muggle hospital or they would begin to question to much on how your eyes changed and your hair so quickly." she said lovingly though it wasn't a shock to her very much. Tony got a thrill every time he saw the change and it helped him with Sirius's moods too. Nera looked up when Sirius's name was called and she ruffled his hair slightly again.

"It's nice to see a familiar face. How are you doing Amanda?" She asked taking her hand with a smile as she then took the bag with the monkey in the side pocket with Sirius in the other arm as they fallowed Amanda.

Amanda heard Nera's words to her son and chuckled. It certainly was a good thing they weren't in a Muggle hospital. Sure, some modern Wizards didn't mind going to one. But where Metamorphmagi children were concerned, that wasn't an option. Being unable to yet control their abilities, there was no telling when hair color, eye color, or even facial features would change on a whim. It was a hard ability to cover up at such a young age, and Amanda knew that well.

"It sure is," Amanda replied in agreement, shaking Nera's hand as she spoke. She waited for Nera to gather her stuff and follow her before speaking again, "I've been okay. Just a little bogged down with work. Pretty normal in this career, though," she added with a smile, "And you? More importantly, how has Sirius been? You're just here for a check up, right?"

Nerefon knew that muggles would take it as a major shock when they saw someone like Sirius being so different. She was used to the talk in the muggle world because of her different hair color and style and she didn't mind, she didn't have to deal with them that often and she liked being different though many thought she dyed her hair that color. Tony dealt with them more when he was sent that way before he started at the school after his accident however he was at the school.

"Yes, its nice to know someone who knows what Sirius is and wouldn't be taken back by his abilities. His daddy loves it and finds it amusing when he changes hair color eye color and it seems to help him understand what mood Sirius is in too." she said smiling at amanda and sirius started running his hands through her hair.

"What is daddy going to think about you, Sirius, huh? I know what daddy will say, he would say that you are being cute and way to charming." she said to Sirius who laughed lightly and gave her an opened mouth kiss.

"That tends to happen no matter what the job is but I can see where it can here. Always busy with some sort of illness and some sort of something that can end up being random. I am good, just been busy with work and with Sirius and Tony though its nice to have Tony coming home at nights so I can get a break and work." she said in all understanding.

"Sirius is doing alright, though growing a lot recently and been eating a lot. Though he seems to get sick from a few things that we try to feed him, I believe allergies. Yes, we are here just for a check up." she said smiling as Sirius reached out to amanda.

"I'm sure it is," Amanda said kindly. She knew from experience how difficult it could be to grow up with such abilities. "Even within the magical world, some people are caught off guard by what we can do. We're simply not that common. But that's okay, Sirius," she said, smiling down at the child, "my mum always said that makes us extra special," She smiled again, this time looking toward Nerefon, "It's good that he enjoys it. He sounds very understanding. Yes, it is a very good mood teller. Kind of like a mood ring, but we can't take it off. And at his age, can't control it much, either."

Amanda chuckled when Nerefon spoke to her soon. Sirius responded by giving his mother a kiss, which made Amanda chuckle again. The relationship between parent and child truly was amazing. One day, she'd have one. One day. "I suppose so," she said, "It's easy to get caught up in your own job, and forget that any job requires just as much work," she said as she led them to the exam room. She opened the door for them, gesturing for Nerefon to step inside. "Sounds like he may be going through a growth spurt. Boys tend to eat a lot when they do. We can run some allergy tests, too, if you'd like. I just have to get set up and then we can get started."

"It is. We aren't that common at all but then again everyone can't help but love Sirius because he is unique. Our family loves him to death and would do anything for him though his grandma gets slightly confused when his hair changes and eye color changes because he tries to mimic everything. Though it is very helpful with his moods." she said nodding and smirked as Sirius's hair got purple tips on the teal.

Sirius giggled at amanda as she talked to him and his hair changed from teal with purple tips to bright florescent green. His eyes however stayed the same which she was thankful for which was nice though she knew that amanda was understanding about how it was harder for younger kids like them to control their ability. She ruffled his hair gently she knew how much he liked new people and everything about them was cute or laughable to him.

"Those are wise words your mother told you. I agree with them. Thats similar to what his grandmother, Hecate, tells him. Thats what Tony says to me all the time. Oh he does which is nice considering that Sirius, well, sirius's biological father wants nothing to do with him and Tony, sirius's daddy, actually is more like a father to him anyway. Tony is very understanding and he loves Sirius to death, it is and thats what Tony relies on when he is with Sirius. I never thought much about it but I would have to agree with you on that one. Not yet anyway." she said smiling at Amanda.

"I can see how that can be. He probably is though. Do they ever! That would be a good idea to run the allergy tests, it would help a lot actually. Thats fine by us, we have nothing else planned for the rest of the day but maybe seeing his cousin." she said smiling and entered the examination room and putting the stuff down on a chair.

"It's good that everyone loves him," she quipped, bubbly personality showing as she spoke, "It was a bit hard for me. Some of the other kids didn't take too well to it. Wasn't able to be in the Muggle world much, either," she thought before adding, "But as long as he's adjusting well, that shouldn't cause much of a problem. Many of us can't be in the Muggle world that much when we're young. Not until we can control what we can do. He seems healthy. I'm sure he'll adjust to that just fine."

She grinned when his hair changed before replying to Nerefon's words, "So he can change at will already?" she asked, voice displaying her shock and pride. Well, he was her patient. She had a right to be a little proud, too, didn't she? "I wasn't able to until I was much older," She laughed at the sound of his giggle, watching as his hair changed again. "One day, Sirius, you'll have it all under control and you'll be able to do things like this," she said, hair changing quickly as she spoke. Going through every color of the rainbow.

"Well, my mother is a wise woman," she said with a smile, "When she wants to be. Hecate sounds pretty wise herself," she added, "Well, I often say that genetics don't matter. The only thing they're there for is to make a person. A family is the group of people who are always there. Regardless of whether they share the same DNA. Sounds lik ehe found a good daddy in Tony," she finished as they walked into the examination room. "Oh, it shouldn't take long at all. So he should be able to see his cousin in no time. Just wait here and I'll be back in a bit."

(OOC: Pretend she left after that and will come back in your next post. XD Might time skip past the allergy test to the results. So that we don't have to write all the boring medical stuff that might require a bit of research first. Let me know if he really does have allergies so I can get it right in my post)

"It is, at first I was scared that no one would want to see him, no one would love him because of his biological father. He is a good boy and doesn't really fuss. He is one little charmer though." she said ruffling sirius's hair making him giggle.

"I bet it was, it was hard for me too and I just tried to stick to one color but when a strong emotion came it changed my hair and eye color. I know how that goes though how people don't take to it well. Thats understandable though I never was in the muggle world till I knew how to control the ability myself. Yeah he is and if we do take him out in the muggle world we have to bring a hat with us just so the muggles wont get to suspicious." she said and smiled at her son.

"Sometimes and others he just gets overly emotional and when that happens it comes and goes. Other times he tries to mimic me. I am proud of him being able to do some of the things at will though he tries to copy right now which he finds fun to do. Really? I was about 12 or 13 when I got the hang of it." Nera watched Sirius as he watched Amanda with wide eyes and fascination wanting to touch.

"I hear ya on that one. Some are very wise but sometimes they won't give you what you want because they want you to go after it and find it yourself. Hecate is but she also takes her time and views the situation at different angles. I guess genetics don't matter I would have to agree that DNA doesn't matter, its who is there for you and loves you. He has and Sirius is very attached to Tony. Alright, take your time." she said back to Amanda and smiled.
