Eragon was siting in the far booth alone and thinking about what life was about. It was hogsmead weekend and he hoped that he would get a chance to talk to his sister. He doubted it or even the person that she was seeing. He hoped that he had the chance to talk to him, he seemed nice enough and since, he himself, was protective of his sister he wanted to get to know who she was with to se if he was good enough for her. He loved her and he wanted her happy, she seemed very happy but he was still worried. He didn't want him to know exactly who he was for he feared that he would tell his sister that he was in school and that there would be hatred.

"You worry to much Eragon." he told himself as he took a sip of his butterbeer that was in his hands and he looked down at his wrist seeing the tattoo he was forced to get that year. Why did he have to suffer, he needed to get away too.

He felt the soft breeze of the door being opened but he didn't look up to see who it was. He didn't mind though he would have to know more about this person. He had sent a letter to him, he had gotten the other's name through a letter he spotted on the desk in the hospital wing that was addressed to his sister from their aunt asking if her and the guy, Airous, she was with would come over. He hoped that he would come so they could talk.

Airous seemed to be in a daze of strange events. First his fathers death, Jacoby getting in trouble, and now this letter that came randomly. He almost didn't show. He didn't know the person or why they wanted to see him. But at the last minute he decided to go. What else could possibly go wrong? Besides if anything did go wrong he would just write another song about it. He's musical career had been put on hold so he could work for his family, but now he didn't even want to step into the Auror Department without Jacoby there.

Airous walked into the small pub. He wasn't sure who he was looking for. So he went to the bar and order a fire whiskey, Normally Airous wouldn't drink. Never had he felt like he should after the way his father was around booze but now that his father was gone, he had taken up the habit slowly. He wasn't a raging drunk like his father, nor even a drunk like his best friend Jon. But something about the numbing of the booze seemed like it would keep him contacted to his fathers spirit.

Airous sipped at the drink, glancing around. For a Hogsmade weekend the pub seemed to be almost empty. A man at the bar and a couple in a booth. Then there was another man at a booth alone. He looked to have similar features as Selene. Airous walked over to him. "Your Eragon I suppose?"

Eragon had pulled out a piece of parchment and started doodling a fairy with intricate wings and beautiful feline features in the face and a slim figure. He had always been good at drawing though his father had always told him that drawing was a muggle thing and that it was something someone weak, like him, would do. That didn't surprise him that his father would say something like that and since stress had always put him into drawing he drew more and more and had a notebook full of doodles and full out drawings of parts of the school or creatures. He found drawing always soothed him because it kept his mind going and numbed everything else that would bring him down, he never showed anyone any of his drawings for fear they would think just like his father and judge him for it.

As he finished up the drawing he put the quill down and looked down at the finished art work which included a beautiful waterfall behind the fairy and to his utter astonishment and horror the fair looked almost exactly like his sister with the long black hair and other features found in the family. He supposed that he missed his sister and that didn't surprise him in the least. When had he last talked with her? When she was adopted by Hecate, their aunt who he hadn't spoken to after Selene live with her, that was years ago and he wished that Selene was here to talk to as well. He took another sip of his drink before writing his initials in the corner of the sheet, hoping one day he would be able to do more then these or have them published.

He looked up as he heard his name and looked the man before him up and down. He could see why his sister would have been taken with this one, he had a good quality about him and one that seemed to balance her out. He wondered what else this one had that made Selene fall for him since it was rare that his sister would like anyone and for a time, though his sister had many guy friends, she didn't want anything to do with them, as in dating. Then again, there must have been a good reason this one held the key to his sisters heart.

"Yes, I am. You supposed correctly. Please, sit. I would like to get to know you and I would like to know the story of how you and Selene met." he said gently gesturing to the seat across from him.

Airous sat down like the other said too. He couldn't help to feel nervous and awkward. After all he knew nothing of this man who wanted to know so much about him. Airous nodded to the other and smiled lightly. "I have a few questions of my own I would like to know." He said as he crossed his hands in front of him. "Does Selene know your in town? Or even that your here with me?" he asked. "I really don't like to keep her uniformed. Actually I don't keep anything from her so I don't want her to not know your here." he explained,

A waitress came by and Airous shoed her off. He didn't need anything at that moment. Maybe later he would take some fire whiskey with him to work but for now he was fine. He looked up at Eargon. "why exactly do you want to know all of this? I'm not trying to be rude I just don't trust people easily. I guess if you know about Selene's past then you can compare it to my past as well. I was also abused when I was a kid." he explained, finding himself almost in a ramble,

Eragon watched Airous like an eagle, which was a custom of his because of his own trust issue with people and that was nothing out of the ordinary for him. He sighed slightly knowing that Airous would have question of his own to ask him and that was perfectly fine but there were several reasons why he didn't want to really discuss why his sister didn't know he was here. He had a bad feeling but then again he had to do many things in order to actually get close to his sister once more and thats what he wanted and in doing that was to talk to Airous.

"Well that is understandable that you would want to ask a few questions of your own especially since it concerns Selene and of course you would want to protect her from any kind of harm that may come her way. She deserves that protection more then ever." he said nodding and watching airous cross his hands and he frowned slightly and he would answer truthfully since he was needing information of his own.

"Selene doesn't know that I am here, or if she does she has not seeked me out in the school yet since its my first year there. She doesn't know that I am talking with you either and if she found out wouldn't she be here with you? I would have talked with Selene but I am more afraid of what she would do if she found out anything." he said sadly and hoped that she would remember her promise to him and that was what made him even more terrified of talking to her because he thought she would have forgotten.

"I bet you don't but with her being a telepath its kind of hard to keep information from her is it not? Selene will find out sooner or later if you keep it to yourself or if you don't she will find out that I'm here regardless if anyone says anything. No one could keep secrets from her and the only way was if you had the same abilities as her or if you really practice to keep your mind closed so she can't find out anything." he said knowing his sister very well since they were close and he had read a journal of hers that she had given him, it was information and she had written a lot of things in it but it also had a secret message in it too.

He watched as a waitress came over but he wasn't hungry himself and he had no reason to be and he was more concerned to get information that he needed but then again he knew it would be difficult to do so. He pulled from his pocket in his robes Selene's old journal that she had given him and it had a lot of secrets that he didn't even know up until he read it that Selene had but there was a code for it and he hoped that Airous would find it fascinating in time when things came to that point. There was also drawings and many other things that meant something to Selene and he was happy to get to know his sister more and there were letters in between pieces of pages of the journal.

"Well, Since I haven't been in her life a lot I thought that it would be best if I ask you. I have heard several rumors about you and her and sometimes I just don't know whats truth and whats a lie. Thats why I want to know, keep the truth and by asking the one thats with her the most. That is understandable that you don't and I know Selene doesn't either. Well I can see how you guys would have met as friends but that leaves a lot more questions especially when it concerns...the child." he said taking a sip of his drink before continuing to speak.

"I am guessing she didn't tell you of the promise she made me when she first attempted to leave the dreaded house she lived in with Markus and his wife and other children. You may want to take this, I have read it several times and I thought that you deserve to read it." eragon said handing over the battered journal.
