It was break time. Most of the other students were outside, enjoying the oddly nice weather. It was still Winter, and there was still a bitter chill in the air, but it was warmer than it had been all season long. And most of the sane Hogwarts students were taking advantage of it. Not that Raven wasn't sane (though some had their doubts), rather, he was spending his break from classes with his girlfriend.
She was five months into her pregnancy. It was hard for him to deny that he was getting nervous. He wasn't sure how this would all pan out. Needless to say, he had a lot on his mind. He sat beside her at that moment, his hand reaching for hers. He supposed they'd talk about it. As they'd both determined before the reaping, they had a lot to talk about. Now was as good a time as ever.

Alina looked over at Raven as she his hand reached for hers. She grabbed it gladly. She could tell that this pregnancy wasn't going easy on him. It wasn't really easy on her either, alot of the students were calling her the names again, but what was worse was that they were dragging him into it, and that hurt her. She hated that he was being called names. But as promised, she would talk to him about this. It was time. After all five months into it wasn't like the baby was going to go anywhere. "Raven, I know your worried, as am I. But the good news is that I know what your going through hun."
It wasn't a lie. She did know what he was going through. She was once in his shoes, not knowing what was going to happen. But this time, she knew what to expect. " Hun, now that we're in the 2nd trimester, things are going to get just a little tougher, my moods are going to get a little wacky, but don't worry, if I seem like I'm eating weird things, well its because I am. What we need to mainly focus on is the baby and the making sure that s/he is getting enough vitamins and essentials in its fluid. But don't worry bout that I have it covered. Oh..and Raven..We can know the sex of the baby."

He wasn't too worried about the name calling. Being though lowly of was certainly nothing new to Raven. And his assertive and often times crude personality made it quite easy for him to defend himself. He definitely bit back. He was more worried about how they'd make this all work. "I know you do," he replied with a grin, "And even if you didn't, I'm sure we'd be fine," So, maybe he wasn't entirely sure. But his arrogance still had him convinced they would be.
"All right, I'll keep that in mind," he frowned for a second as he thought, curiously, "What kind of weird things?" Well, it seemed like a legitimate question. He'd never been around a pregnant woman, after all. He'd heard the stories, but that didn't exactly mean he knew from first hand experience. At her next words, he nodded, almost excitedly. "I want to," he said, "When can we know?"

"Well, like chocolate on hot dogs..I like that kind of weird things." she said smiling and laughing. At his next question she almost launched out of her seat. "We can find out right now if you want to, I have the test kit right in my room, just let me go get it." with that said she waddled quickly up the stairs to go get the testing equipment and came back down the stairs. She smiled at her beloved Raven and looked at him with such passion and love in her eyes. "You amaze me you know. Most men in your shoes tend to try to think of reasons to get out of commitments."

Raven chuckled at her reply. He couldn't help himself when he said, "That sounds kind of gross," because it did. But still, he added, "But if that's what you want, I'll make sure the house elves in the kitchens know," His eyes were on her as she responded to his question. Wizards had tools for a lot, didn't they? He hadn't expected to find out so soon. He was momentarily overwhelmed, but it wore off quickly as he said, "Then let's," before she went upstairs and came back with it. He shrugged at her words, "I'm not like most men," he told her.

"I know you aren't like most men." she said as she put in the ingredients into the kit. She was anxious, and nervous about what the test would say. "And hey, don't knock the chocolate hot dog till you've tried it mister." she said smirking at him as she added the last ingredient into the solution. "Now all we have to do is wait for it to turn either a light blue or a dark pink color. Obviously blue means a boy and pink means a girl" she said smiling. "So, my chivalrousness knight in shining armor..How has things been with your studies?" she asked

"I'm glad you know," he said. He couldn't hide that he was a bit nervous. He wasn't quite sure what he expected from this. A boy would be nice. But he wouldn't mind a girl, either. He watched her put the kit together, laughing at her comment about chocolate on hot dogs. "I don't think I'll be trying it any time soon, thanks," he said. He stared at the solution, waiting for it to turn. It seemed to take forever as she spoke again, "Same ol, same ol. Only barely passing. Got in trouble in Herbology today. The usual, you know."

Alina smiled at him happily. "You're not the only one. I got in trouble to. Jon blew a gasket when he saw me come in late and out of uniform. Should be fun breaking it to him and my sister that we're expecting." she said staring at the kit. She was anxious herself, but she would be patient. Finally after what seemed forever she could see color. She looked at Raven and showed him the bright pink tube. "It's a girl...you're baby is a girl." she said smiling.

He laughed. He could imagine the look on Professor Doom's face when she showed up not in uniform. It pleased him. "Maybe we should do that once a week. The two of us. Just to give him his weekly gasket blow," He chuckled. He could already imagine the looks on their faces. His eyes landed on the tube as she held it out to show him. Pink. It was pink. Which meant it was a girl. He smiled happily. "And she'll be perfect," he said.

Alina smiled brightly at him, there was nothing but love in her eyes, love and care. "I'm sure she will be. I'm glad that I have you by my side. I'm glad that I met you and I'm glad that everything has worked out, because honestly, I don't think I could go through much without you by me." she said going over to him and kissing him softly on his lips. "I love you Raven Thomas. I love your eyes, and your black hair, and your silly but oh so serious looks. I love all and everything about you."
She wasn't to worried about Jon and them finding out.It was Lloyd she was really worried about. But then again, he couldn't really talk since he got Danni preggers. "So..got any special names?"

"I'm glad to be here," he said, smirking before returning her kiss with an equally soft one of his own. "And if she's anything like you, she definitely will be," he added with a determined nod. He smiled again, pleased to hear her words. "I love you, too," he replied. He wasn't that worried about anyone finding out. Raven didn't quite care what about people thought of him. Anything they'd say, he'd likely let roll right off his shoulders. And he doubted his mother would care. She didn't care about much as it was. "Not that I can think of at the moment. I'm sure we can find some together, though."

"Well I'm sure whatever she is named it'll be perfect." she said as she curled into him. Alina thought about how to write the letter to Lloyd, eventually she'd just have to come forward with it. "I'll be right back okay?" with that she quickly ran upstairs, wrote her letter, and sent it on its way. She came back down
and snuggled back in.

"I'm sure it will, too," he said, "How about we get one of those... what do Muggles call them? Name books? And thumb through it a bit. Just to get ideas. We don't even have to use one of the names in it. Maybe it will help us brainstorm some, though," he suggested thoughtfully. He looked at her strangely when she said that she'd be right back, nodding before she took off upstairs. He sat where he'd been until she returned, snuggling into him.

Alina smiled at his idea. "I think thats a great idea. Why don't we order it tonight and see if we can get in delivered quickly. Cus from four months from now, she'll be here, and we'll be taking care of two adorable children...I'm just worried that something will go wrong, I hope not, but I'm afraid." she said nestling into his neck. "I'm sure you're going to be a great father Raven." she said happily.

Raven smiled in return, arrogance showing through as she told him that it was a good idea. "I thought it was," he said with a nod, "Yeah, let's order it now. If possible. Maybe we can have it like, delivered tomorrow?" he really didn't know how that stuff worked. Nor did he know if Wizards and Witches had such books. He was as clueless as they came. "I'm sure nothing will go wrong," he said, trying to ease her worries. "I hope you're right."
