fc08.deviantart.net/fs44/f/2009/080/2/c/Yuuko__s_Magic_Circle_by_shinigami3.pngYami yawned loudly as he stood by the Hogwart's lake a cigar between his lips. He took a long drawn releasing a cloud of smoke from his lips. His Haori flapped in the summer breeze as he looked up at the clouds watching them moving in the cloudy sky. He ran his fingers through his hair as he threw the remains of the cigar on the ground and stomped it out before using his darkness element to send it into an infinite void never to be seen again. Yami bit his right thumb drawing blood. He slammed his hand on the ground as a large intricate summoning array formed beneath him. His magic aurora flared encasing him as smoke engulfed his form. In the smoke a long pair of leathery wings stretched and flapped followed by a long scaled tail. The smoke vanished to reveal a young black dragon floating in mid air before Yami. The dragon blew smoke out of its nostrils, it was only about three feet in length and size so it was relatively small. "What ya want Yami" said the Dragon in a long drawn out growlish tone. Unlike other dragon's this dragon was a Ryuu Akuma or Dragon Demon, being a demon it allowed for the dragon to speak and understand human tongue. Yami waved the creature off and tossed a piece of paper to the dragon with a name and magical signature on it, "Find this boy and tell him to meet me here" said Yami as he tucked his hands in his pockets. The dragon rolled its eyes before grumbling about not being an owl. The dragon flapped its wings and flew off in order to find the boy and deliver the message.

Tyler stood on the stairs looking down at the ground below. He was leaning over ever so slightly, taking extra care not to fall. Some of the paintings were watching him, he could feel them staring. The eyes on portraits really did move in the Wizarding world. He wondered idly if they'd repeat what they'd seen. He was just curious. TJ had made a special, magic water balloon and was wondering how long it would take to hit the first floor if he tossed it from the third. He was trying as hard as he could to listen for the splat, hoping that it would not hit a teacher when it landed. It was as he leaned just a centimeter further that he heard something behind him. Tyler nearly jumped in surprise, having to grab a railing to prevent himself from toppling down. His heart jumped. He was sure he'd been caught. This was it. He'd have detention again. But when he turned, he saw an even more startling sight.
(where did that dragon come from he wondered, but did not ask)
The dragon gave him the message it had been told to pass on. He stuttered to speak, stunned by the sight and still taken aback by the fear of being caught during his little experiment. Just as the dragon left, TJ still dumbfounded for words, he heard the splat he'd been waiting for below as the magical balloon busted. The sound of a Slytherin student shouting an obscenity let Tyler know that heading for his lesson would be the safest idea. He turned on his heel and rushed down the flight of stairs. When he reached the first floor, he ignored the snake, avoiding eye contact at any costs.
He rushed to the grounds quickly, arriving at the lake as promptly as was possible. He was almost out of breath once he approached his sensei. He bowed politely, the way he'd been taught how by one of his two step fathers. "Hello Sensei," he said, "I came as quickly as I could," He hoped that Yami couldn't see the worry in his eye. He was sure he'd push it aside before the lesson begun. After all, when he worked he tried his best to give it his all. He didn't want fear of a detention dragging him down. Or the thought of a strange dragon, for that matter.

Yami pulled out another cigar placing it between his lips using wind magic to slice the end off before lighting it with a spark of his fire magic. He took a long drag from the cancer stick before letting out a large cloud of smoke, shutting his eyes as euphoria filled his body. Smoking was one of his releases a way of dealing with all the lives he had taken over the years. Even though he had only been a mercenary for five years he had taken hundreds of lives and stained his hands with so much blood. He had killed men, women and children the innocent who didn't deserve to die but he killed them. In a way he had no way to atone for these wrongs these sins he had caused, but he hoped that by teaching the next generation to do right by where he did wrong that he could change the world. Yami sighed as he looked up at the sky wondering if in the heaven's his parents were smiling or frowning down upon him, he just hoped Kami forgave him. Yami turned as he heard someone approaching, the seventh year hufflepuff student Tyler Johnson. Yami eyed the boy with his cold harsh red eyes; a mask of deception placed upon his sharp features a cold, calm and emotionless mask. Beneath his eyes was anger, hatred, sadness, despair, self hatred and beneath that a veil of evil hidden deep in his void. Yami’s eyes narrowed as he sized up the seventh year student to get an understanding of his current magical core. The black dragon flew through the air landing on Yami’s shoulder snorting out fire, “So your back Kurahi (Dark Fire)” said Yami as he glanced at his summon. The dragon idenyoutified as Kurahi snorted again as he flapped his wings and hovered around the two. “Do you really think he’s worthy of learning to summon my kind and others Yami-sama?” questioned Kurahi as he blew out smoke his face distorted in a frown Yami gave him a blank stare, “I believe that’s what your father Kuraikokouo (Dark King) said to my father when I first started” said Yami as he folded his arms across his chest. Kurahi snorted again and vanished in a puff of smoke. Yami sighed as he tossed his cigar to the ground and stomped it out before sending it to a dark void like the last cigar, “You are here to learn the subtle art of Ancient and Current Eastern magic , while many of the areas I know are Ancient or Lost there are others that are still used in today’s society” lectured Yami as he channelled magic into the palm of his hand and used his wind magic to cut open his palm. Blood defied gravity running up his arm before in a puff of smoke a large scroll appeared. Yami unrolled the scroll as his blood dripped onto the intricate sealing array as in a puff of smoke a large white board appeared beside him. Yami grabbed a black white board marker and began to write on it his hand already healed, thanks to his magic, “You will be taught how to access your magic, learning to meditate and control your magical core, training your body to survive combat, mastering your elements, forging summoning contracts, mastering weapons and learning to heal any wound” said Yami as he drew on the board multiple summoning arrays. “Before we can begin you’ll need to learn to perfectly draw each summoning array and attune yourself to one or more before you can even begin summoning your partner and forging a contract. So today we’ll work on the construction of the first basic sealing array than move onto unlocking your core” said Yami as he placed a box around the first array Basic Array - 4.bp.blogspot.com/_RNrl2Gr0VwI/So....aitou_k age.jpg fc03.deviantart.net/fs49/f/2009/1....y_Notsalony.pngfc01.deviantart.net/fs40/f/2009/0....kQueenHelba.jpgimages3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20....es/6/6d/Richard's_Magic_Circle.jpg 4.bp.blogspot.com/-bXxs4tQw5nM/TW....agic_circle.jpgfc08.deviantart.net/fs44/f/2009/0...._shinigami3.pngfc04.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/0....666-d3a1euz.pngfc03.deviantart.net/fs14/f/2007/0....he_panpiper.jpgfc03.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/2....mni_science.jpg

(ooc: the links aren't working. if they're important to the post and you can relink them, I'll edit this post when that is done)
Tyler stared at Yami as the elder held a cigar between his lips. Even as he stood there, he couldn't help but find himself thinking about what a nasty habit that was. Nevertheless, he made no remark toward it as one of his many "fathers" had picked up the habit long ago himself. Therefore, it wasn't as though TJ was not used to being around it. He let out a short, quiet sigh as he stood before his sensei waiting for the man to speak. He had to admit that he was excited about the lesson, despite how often he had heard that Yami's lessons were hard. Tyler lived for a challenge, after all.
Tyler watched the dragon (Kurahi as Professor Hateshiginai had called him) as he flew through the air and onto the others shoulder. He tensed up slightly when the dragon spoke, questioning his ability to learn the course and the skill. Tyler himself wasn't entirely sure he could, but he was sure going to try. He would have pointed that out, if he hadn't felt slightly intimidated by the dragon. He was sure that feeling would ease as the lessons progressed, but it hadn't quite eased yet. Instead of saying anything in return, he listened as Yami spoke and continued to listen once the dragon vanished.
"Yes, sir," he replied politely when the professor explained why he was there. It was the elective he had picked, after all. He nodded when it was explained that many things he knew were lost, but nevertheless, many were still used, as well. It all sounded so complicated and yet, still so intriguing. If he could learn it, he was sure he would enjoy knowing that he had. He watched as a box was placed around what the other referred to as the first array. "I think I understand," he said, allowing the others words to sink in, "How do I begin to draw the array?"

base seal -http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_RNrl2Gr0VwI/Soc4_jngyvI/AAAAAAAABUA/vi_1kOfkHEQ/s400/Nizam__s_Summoning_Circle_by_kaitou_kage.jpg Demon Seal - fc08.deviantart.net/fs44/f/2009/080/2/c/Yuuko__s_Magic_Circle_by_shinigami3.png"Normally your summoning arrays are drawn in blood. The circle you use initially to summon a demon or spirit or creature to form a contract is usually the summoning circle summoned when calling forth that partner. For instance when I formed my contract with Kurahi I used what’s known as a ‘demon seal’ as such whenever I summon him this array will always form. For you however you will be drawing the basic summoning circle in chalk, white board markers, pencils or ink” said Yami as he bit his thumb drawing blood and running it over the scroll again, this time summoning numerous pieces of parchment as well as a calligraphy brush and ink. “Until you are capable of drawing the basic seal perfectly you will not even attempt at learning to form a contract. Though do take note the first creature you generally summon will be your familiar. A creature bound to you and can always be summoned in an instant. Like my own familiar Orochimaru” instructed Yami as he slowly rolled up his sleeve, “Often familiar’s can take the form of tattoos on your skin. This also applies to summons showing your contract to them, other contracts can take the shape of cards” said Yami as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a crimson red card with the image of a giant white wolf with green markings along its body hosted on the card. “Most beginners use this form as using a summoning card only requires the use of a small drop of blood and a tiny bit of magic. Once you have perfected your basic seal you will be taught how to summon and forge a contract. Mind you some demons or spirits are rather easy to gain others are much more difficult. The higher the creature you summon the greater the contract often is” said Yami as he pocketed the card and summoned a table and chair placing the parchment and ink upon it. “Each brush stroke must be perfect or else the array will malfunction and could potentially explode killing you in the process”

Tyler listened to his sensei as well as he could, drinking in every word. He could feel his heart picking up speed as he anticipated the start of the lesson. He was excited and worried at the same time. He was afraid he'd do it wrong, and yet excited about learning how to do it right. He was silently grateful that at least he didn't have to draw the arrays in blood yet. (At least I can start with something simple such as chalk or ink) He eyed the parchment and the ink as it was summoned, wondering if that's what he would have to draw the arrays on.
Tyler nodded at his next words. The idea of summoning a contract was very appealing to him. Otherwise, he would not have chosen the course at all. He couldn't help but wonder what his familiar would look like. For a moment, as he stood there, he found himself fantasizing it. What form did familiars typically take? Could it be something as simple as a cat? Or would it be something more interesting, like a two headed dog? He stared at the card as the other explained that many beginners used it, and sat when the chair and table was summoned. He was still nervous and his nerves only intensified when his sensei told him that if he did it wrong, he could die. "Am I to start now?" he asked, nerves filling his voice slightly as he spoke.

Yami summoned another chair placing it on the other side of the desk and sat down unsealing another set of parchment and ink set as well as two old style calligraphy brushes, laying one in front of Tyler. He gripped the calligraphy brush and dipped it into the ink, "We shall begin with the construction of a perfect circle so please pay close attention" instructed Yami as he tapped the edge of the brush on the ink bottle before stroking it around the edges to get rid of any excess ink.
"When you dip your brush make sure to get rid of the excess ink so as not to accidentally allow stray drops to hit your parchment and ruin your array, even the slightest mistake could mean death. However as we are dealing with only plain ink and being a beginner I expect you to make mistakes. though be wary to new press to hard with your brush they must always be smooth and gentle strokes" said Yami as he lowered the brush to the paper and with one swift hand movement drew a perfect circle with one flick.
"By the time we are done you'll be able to draw your summoning arrays in seconds" said Yami as he placed the brush back down on the parchment and slowly ran the brush across the paper moving his wrist slowly in a circular motion. The ink rank along the page creating a perfect circle.
Yami than drew another perfect circle this time inside the first before drawing a third. He followed up by drawing two squares each on a slant and on top of each other, "Once you learn your circles it will be your squares that must be perfect" he followed up by drawing two circles inside one another inside the inner square, lastly a square in the form of a diamond. He drew four smaller circles at each point of the diamond and four more on the outside between each square point on the outer squares. Yami followed up with the symbols.
"Of course really when you've mastered your shapes you'll be drawing them together to ensure no lines or marks run through any of your shapes and symbols" said Yami as he drew an identical seal but his brush rarely left the page as he drew his symbols amongst each shape.

Tyler nodded at his sensei's instructions. Paying attention wouldn't be any problem for him. After all, he was quite excited for the lesson. He grabbed the calligraphy brush, dipping it in the ink, as well. He followed Yami's instructions to the best of his ability, getting rid of the excess ink as well as he could. He gave Yami a quick glance that basically said like that? as though he wasn't entirely sure of himself. The idea of one wrong move meaning death meant that Tyler wanted to do everything as well as he could. That and he didn't quite want to anger Yami.
Tyler watched as Yami drew the circles and then the squares, listening to every word he spoke. He drew a circle carefully, keeping his hand as steady as possible. He followed that with another circle, and then a third. He wasn't sure if they were perfect, but was too afraid to ask. "Drawing them together?" he asked, "How do you mean?"
OOC: Sorry it's very delayed. I could have sworn I'd replied to this one.

Yami sighed softly, "By drawing each shape separately and over the other you end up with a mass of intersecting lines and a mess" said Yami as he pulled yet another cigar and sliced the end off with wind magic before lighting it up with his fire magic and taking a long drag before blowing out a cloud of smoke, "Though I'll probably use your own blood to mix with the ink and draw the first summoning circle for you so you can get use to the whole idea. I'll probably start off with something simply to summon like a one tailed Kitsune youkai or Bakeneko, something easy to bond with and while you practice drawing your array's you can get to know them and study with them"
Yami took another long drag before blowing out another cloud of smoke, "I don't want to sound arrogant but I'll say amongst humans, witch's, wizards and Mage's I'm renowned as the foremost expert in this style of magic including summoning, however what most don't know with summoning contracts if there's someone that knows more than me it'll be your summons so it's always best to study with them" said Yami as he approached Tyler and swung a hand channelling wind magic into his nails. He cut Tyler slightly on the shoulder drawing a bit of blood onto his nails.
He grabbed the ink bottle and let a single droplet of blood fall into the ink bottle. He grabbed the brush and drew it from the pot. He grabbed a piece of paper and in a fluid motion drew a perfect summoning array. He walked over to Tyler and placed it in the boys hand, "Seeing as I haven't taught you to control your magic yet I'll do that for you." Yami placed his hand on Tyler's shoulder and let his magic flare around him. The red aurora raced forward spreading into Tyler's body.
Yami's magic latched onto Tyler's magical core and forcibly brought his magic to the surface, as being connected to Yami's own core it glowed red, not its natural colour though. Yami grabbed the seal and threw it to the ground. The paper burned away as the array burned into the grass and expanded appearing beneath them. Yami slowly raised a hand and chanted "Seirei,-juu to furui mono to, subete no rerumu no atarashī no akuma. Watashi wa watashi no tamashī ni baindo suru ni ataisuru onajimi no yobikake. Detekuru to watashi no keiyaku o hatasu!" chanted Yami.
The array glowed brightly as Yami stepped out of it, "Let's see what you'll bond with first shall we, Shoukan Teiketsu!" The seal glowed as a bright white light encased Tyler forming a large pillar of light that shot up into the sky obscuring Yami's vision.
The pillar of light slowly died down as a puff of smoke rolled out. The smoke disappeared revealing Tyler once more but standing in front of him was a small Tanuki a Raccoon Dog no larger than a cat. The Raccoon Demon looked up at Tyler its tail swinging behind it making the earth shake slightly, an earth attuned demon. The Tanuki moved its head to the right and stared up at the figure which magical signature matched the one which summoned it. The Tanuki smiled and held up a hand and spoke, “Yo name’s Sukoshikoudo (Little Earth)”
Yami stepped forward arms folded, [color=darked“A Earth attuned Tanuki huh interesting. Go on introduce yourself boy[/color]” said Yami.

Tyler glanced at his professor, flabbergasted by it all but afraid to point it out. Instead, he listened quietly, coughing when the cigar was lit. His eyes widened quite comically at the mention of using his own blood, but he still remained steadily quiet, merely nodding along as Yami spoke. He was an attentive listener, but had never been much of a speaker. At least, not in class. Outside of class he hardly ever shut up. If he spoke in class half as much as he did out of class, he'd be in detention every evening.
"I don't think it sounds arrogant," Tyler said. But he nodded when he was told that listening to his summons would be ideal. He supposed it made sense. Wouldn't a summon know a lot about the subject? Tyler flinched visibly, nearly jumping when he felt the nail on his shoulder. Even though he'd had fair warning, he still hadn't suspected it when it happened. He watched his sensei, nodding at his words and still watching as he threw the seal to the ground. Confusion set in when he seemed to be momentarily encased, and when it cleared, his eyes were set on what appeared to be a raccoon dog. "I'm TJ," he said at his professors instructions, and upon realizing he was still in a lesson corrected himself, "Tyler."

The Tanuki grinned and jumped up landing on Tyler's head. It grinned as it sat their, "Nice ta meet ya Tyler!" said Sukoshikoudo as he glanced over at Yami and gave a large wide grinned, 'Ah Yami-san big bro Yaseikoudo (Wild Earth) said many good things about you" said Sukoshikoudo before patting Tyler on the head, "I guess this human's your student hey"
The tanuki then leaped down landing between the two its grin widening, "Also I'm not just an earth tanuki, I'm the great descendent of the Ichibi no Shukaku! I can mix wind and earth together for Sand Magic!" said Sukoshikoudo as his tail flickered back and forth behind him playfully as it did sand rose up around him and seemed to dance.
Yami merely nodded at the Tanuki, "I believe you will need to forge a contract with Tyler-san Sukoshikoudo-san" said Yami crossing his arms over his chest giving the demon a bored look.
The tanuki turned to Tyler smiling wide, "That's right contract time!" His tail shot up as a large circle formed beneath them a hexagon within it, "Hey bro if you want to summon me make sure to have lots of snacks ready! I won't do a thing without snacks got it!" said the tanuki.

"Nice to meet ya, too," Tyler said to it, attempting to look up at the raccoon like creature, which only resulted in TJ looking cross eyed as he tried to stare. He felt it pat him on the head, and flinched slightly out of discomfort rather than nerves or fear. Nevertheless, he grinned at the words before saying, "Yes," at the question. He watched the tanuki leap to the ground between them, explaining some of what he could do. Its tail twitched, causing sand to dance up around him as Tyler continued to watch.
Tyler nodded, repeating the words nervously, "Contract time," not quite sure what to do. He glanced toward his sensei for assistance, but was too afraid to ask. He looked toward the tanuki again, seeing his tail flick up and the circle and hexagon beneath him. "I'll make sure of it," TJ vowed.

Sukoshikoudo grinned at Tyler his tail flicking back and forth cheerfully before his expression turned dark and a foul dark energy flowed from his body, "Because if you don't abide by the contract...." the aurora erupted as a large demonic creature the shape of a demonic Tanuki took form behind him, 'I'll consume your soul and you shall forever be forsaken into the lowest pits of hell!" the little Tanuki's voice had turned deep and demonic as the giant demonic Tanuki laughed. The aurora flared and dived into the small demon vanishing. The tanuki's tail struck the hexagon as a glowing sandy brown light engulfed the two, " KEIYAKU (contract)!" the energy died down the hexagon burnt into the ground as a card came flying down from the heaven's. The card stopped just above the ground before it floated up. On the card was a picture of Tyler with Sukoshikoudo on his shoulder grinning with all sorts of candy around them as well as a tidal wave of sand rise up behind them. At the bottom of the contract were the Hiragana 砂漠の力 Sabaku no Chikara meaning 'Power of the Desert'. Yami stepped forward and reached out taking the card eyeing it, "Sabaku no Chikara 'Power of the Desert'" spoke Yami as he flicked his wrist and threw the card to Tyler. The card stopped right in front of him hovering in front of his eyes, " I'll give you the incantation that you'll need to recite to summon your new summon. At your level the incantation will be required. But over time we'll remove that so you can summon your familiar by merely calling out their name. As such I'll show you an example of with the incantation. Just so your aware of what one looks like" said Yami as he pulled out a card from his pocket with an image of him as well as a small yellow two tailed cat with black flames surrounding them. " Watashi wa chi no gizō keiyakusho ni yobidasu koto ga watashi no mahō shōkan. Watashi no shōkan ni mimi o katamuke, watashi ga tatakau kite, anata no masutā no yobidashi ni kotaeru! KIRARA! (I summon my magic to call upon the contracts forged of blood. Come heed my summoning and fight by me, answer your master's call! KIRARA!)" the card glowed bright red as Yami threw it to the ground, a large summoning array encasing him as a crimson light encased him. The light flared up creating a pillar as black flames erupted from the edges bathing Yami's form. The light died down as the flames came together taking shape creating a small yellow two tailed cat with crimson eyes. The cat meowed as it sat at Yami's feet looking around with big wide eyes, " This is one of my summons the demon cat Kirara"www.freewebs.com/kurama104/Kirara.jpg

Tyler flinched when the Tanuki seemed to darken before him. Expression no longer grinning, but seeming almost demonic. He listened as it spoke to him, flinching again at its words as he felt a chill down his spine. Well, there was no doubt about it. Whether he wanted to or not, he was bloody well abiding the contract. "That won't be a problem," he vowed, trying to keep his voice as even as possible. That was the way to do it. Keep your voice steady, even when it wants to quiver.
He watched the tanuki perform the contract, noticing the sand. He felt like it would engulf them, and almost expected it to. He stared at the card when Yami threw it to him, unsure of what he'd need to do with it, or what he was supposed to do with it then. It hovered in front of him, his eyes remaining on it. "Okay," Tyler replied. An incantation sounded simple enough. To him, it sounded like dealing with the actual summon would be the challenge.
He watched Yami perform his own incantation, and stared at the cat that appeared in wonder. He couldn't stop himself from kneeling down near it. He knew that his sensei probably wouldn't appreciate the gesture, but it was in TJ's nature to do such things. "Aww, it's so cute," he said before he cleared his throat and asked, "Is my incantation going to be different from yours?"
OOC: Probably should try to get this thread done before the games. Not sure how that works. ^^

Kirara mewed at Tj as it sat in front of Yami. The small cat moved her head to the side staring as TJ knelt beside her. The little bakeneko gave a confused mew, her ears twitching as the hufflepuff called her cute. The small cat seemed to bow her head moving a tail to cover her face as if embarrassed by the remark.
Yami brushed a few stray bangs from his face and smiled, "The incantation will be the same as my own the only exception is you'll call out the name of your summon at the end. As I called Kirara to my aid by her name you will call Sukoshikoudo by his, so merely replace Kirara's name with his and the summoning should work" lectured Yami as he crouched beside Kirara placing a hand on her head and gently stroked her fur.
"As you've heard with Sukoshikoudo each summon has a different ability. It'll be your duty as a summoner to learn to synch yourself with your summon, to allow a perfected synchronised fighting between the two of you. If you aren't in synch in combat that only spells doom. So when you have free outside of learning how to draw the arrays properly and the incantation summon your familiar to get to know them a bit more as well as the true extension of their powers.
Also as a new summoner you first summon also acts as a guard. When you’re on the brink of death or in need of help they'll automatically summon themselves by your side. That's the thing with summons once you've formed a bond with them they'll know if you’re in trouble. I can't count the number of time's Kirara saved me, isn't that right girl" spoke Yami as he ran his fingers through Kirara's fur again her loud purrs ringing through his ears.
Yami stood up and pulled a scroll from his pocket and tossed it to Tyler, "Sorry if I'm cutting this short but the lesson for now is finished. For the remainder of the time that Sukoshikoudo is here get to know him a bit more. On that scroll is the design of the array as well as instructions on how to draw it, as well as the incantation of the summoning spell in Japanese and English translations. So study hard I expect by next lesson for you to have memorised it" said Yami before he turned and started to walk away, his summon jumping onto his shoulder, tails wrapped around his neck. Yami raised a hand and waved as he walked away, "Till next time and make sure you study hard"
