Peter watched as Airous and Jacoby ran toward him. Jacoby's words ht his ears but he couldn't process them. He wanted so badly to press on the gas and ram the car into his son. But then there was Jacoby who he would rather site in the back of the car and mingle with. He stared at the two. Then he made up his mind.
Peter hit the gas peddle all the way to the floor. The engine roared but the car didn't move. He blinked, confused. "Stupid thing doesn't work." He mumbled to himself, kicking at the car. He couldn't figure it out. Even young muggles could do this but a grown man couldn't. It was unfair and didn't make sense.

Airous heard Jacoby's question and shrugged. "It makes a good pay to be able to raise my daughter." He said sadly. "I mean...I don't mind the job. I just feel like there's something more for me out there. But it's not about me." He said with a small smirk wondering if Jacoby would understand.
Airous reached the car first. He smacked his hand on the hood of the car, making eye contact with his father. He then reached for his father and proceed to drag the man out of the car. His father was stronger than him and reseted him well. Airous cursed under his breath wondering if maybe there was a easier way to do this. He looked at Jacoby for help.

"Is that the only reason you took the job?" Jacoby asked, eyes on Airous as he spoke. He wouldn't judge. He just genuinely hadn't imagined it would be the only reason one would take a job. "At least you're honest, anyway," he added. And it was true. For Jacoby liked honest. Both typical and a contradiction in many ways. Jacoby blinked at Airous in confusion when he said it wasn't about him, smiling in a strange way as he stared at him. "But it is about you," he noted, "You're the one I'm training,"
Jacoby wasn't too surprised when Airous reached their destination first. Jacoby was faster than many of the other aurors, but not often faster than the younger ones. Agility seemed to dwindle with both age and bad habits. He cursed under his breath when Peter resisted, already hesitant about this all. He didn't want Airous to see the hesitation. When Airous looked toward him, he joined his side, reaching to pull Peter out of the car, as well.

Peter had been fumbling around with the car. He suddenly forgot about Jacoby as he put the pedal down to the floor. But to his surprise nothing happened. He didn't understand the creation of the emergency brake and parking brake, which where both on at the moment. He continued to push the gas pedal down, expecting something to happen. But nothing did, expect the roar of the engine flaring.
Peter was broke out of his thoughts by Jacoby yelling at him to get out of the car. Then for hands where on him, pulling him out. Peter landed on the concrete below, hitting his face and shoulder first. He groaned out in pain. "What the hell was that for?" He soured drunkinly.

"Yes." Airous admitted. "Though I think it has to do with the head being my god mother as well. The pressure to not disappoint her and all." He sighed sadly. "Even though I really didn't have a chose I don't know what I would do still. I wouldn't have a job now if it wasn't for choosing this life." Airous didn't understand Jacoby's next words. "But it's not. Ill do anything for my daughter. To make sure she will have the best future I can give her. It really isn't about me. I need to do this to make sure she's safe."
Soon Peter was on the ground. Airous reached into the car, pulling the keys out. It was better the car was off with the drunk man. "What where you thinking." Airous just about yelled. He wanted to yell more as the realization that he almost lost his father just the same way as his mother hit him. How could his father be so dumb?

"I can definitely see where that would put pressure on you," Jacoby replied. Hell, he was of no relation to any of the Auror's and he had felt a lot of pressure when he first joined the department. He couldn't even begin to imagine how bad it was for Airous, already having connections within. He caught the solemn sigh and stared at Airous in confusion, eyes remaining on him as he spoke. "I just hope you grow to like it," he said seriously. He didn't hope so for Airous' sake. Actually, quite the contrary. "Noble enough reasons, I suppose," he said. Though - even with children of his own - he didn't understand where Airous was coming from.
Peter landed on the concrete, groaning in pain. Not Jacoby's exact intention, but at least he was out of the car. Airous took the keys out, and Jacoby gave him a quick nod of approval, momentarily stunned by the scene at hand. "Because you can't drive a car," he said, answering Peter's question after a brief second, "Especially while intoxicated. He heard Airous yell and turned to face him. Well, he would like to know the answer to that, too.

"It's better this way." He said as a flash of sadness crossed his face. "I rather my daughter be able to grow up and have dreams that she can reach then me. I do it for them. Even if its not what I want." He said with a shrug. "I'm sure ill like it."
Airous looked down at his father who seemed to take his time in answering the questions they had for him. He still couldn't pull together that his father almost died. He sighed and looked at Jacoby. "Please don't take him to Azkaban. I can walk him home. Just...don't take my dad to Azkaban." He said pleading with him. "I'm sure Hecate will understand. If not i can take the blame for this."

Peter got up off the ground and stared at the two before him. "I can drive a car. Everyone in the muggle world can drive a car which makes me, in the muggle world able to drive a car." He said with drunk logic, animatedly. With a hand he tossed his hair back so he could get a better look at the two.
"What the hell are you thinking?" Peter asked back to his son. He moved in front of his son and pushed at him with both hands. "You think you have the authority to tell me what to do just because your friends with a auror?" He spat

Jacoby offered Airous a forced smile. It was hard for him, however, to empathise with his situation. Not that that was all that unusual for Jacoby. Empathy was tough for him. Even when he felt it, he had trouble showing that he did. Still, he wondered what that was like. Putting one's children before themselves. "Jon would say there's something admirable about that," he said carefully, "Me, I'm not sure. However, I do hope that, in time, you grow to like it. It's a rewarding career. Terrifying, at times, but rewarding."
It was strange staring at Peter with Airous next to him. It made Jacoby slightly nervous. Especially considering how often he blurted the truth out without thinking. As he stood there, he could feel himself tense up. He was literally biting his tongue, holding back the words that he wanted to say to Peter. He was shaken up, too. Which was, also, hard to mask. If he and Airous hadn't arrived when they did, Peter could have died. It took all the energy he had to not speak his mind.
"I..." he said, choked on the words for a moment, "No one's going to Azkaban. And you're not taking the fall for this," he added, "We'll think of something to tell Hecate," Well, there it was. Out in the open. The fact that he was quite unorthodox with his work. He barely heard Peter's words. He certainly hadn't heard enough of them to give him a sensible reply.
He had slightly came to his senses, though, when Peter addressed his son, asking him what he was thinking. He shoved at Airous. Under normal circumstances, Jacoby might not have done anything to help the younger Auror, but at that moment, he was on duty. He attempted to step in front of Airous, to shield him in a way, still ill at ease with the situation. "We were sent here," he explained needlessly, because he knew that someone who was drunk wasn't likely to accept such logic, "It's not his fault," There was no judgement in his voice when he spoke, nor was there any on his face. He supposed he'd try to get Peter to go home. And then he'd think of a lie for why he wasn't brought in. For Jacoby was not going to bring him in.
OOC: Sorry for the length. D: Was replying to both posts, though, so had trouble preventing it. lol
