and it's all in how you mix the two and it starts just where the light exists
it's a feeling that you cannot miss and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it Kasper looked around his room for a moment wondering if he needed to take anything with him when he was shopping...he had galleons and other such coins in a sachet. He had his room key in his shoe...his wand was where it always was theses days, in the spring release contraption against his wrist that was hidden underneath his black grey jacket's sleeves...the contraption has been a gift from his mentor Kristen in London, every good auror needed one he had been told...He looked at himself in the mirror. At the light cotton t-shirt his fiance Adele had bought him before he had left for London...his blue jeans were also knew and a little stiff because of it but they looked really good on him. He smiled sadly at the picture of Adele in his mirror...she was so gorgeous and amazing..it was sad she couldn't join him here. He would write to her every chance he got at least and come home for visits when he got a chance...
He left the hotel after locking his door and headed down to Hogesmead, he had never set foot in Hogesmead or even London before so it was such a strange site...everyone had such strange english accents as well...it made him glance at them as he passed...he himself for from New Zealand but he had gotten use to hearing Noweigan and Swedish accents...English accents would take a while for him to get use to... He looked around curiously and finally entered a shop called the Three Broomsticks that seemed to be serving drinks...He went up to the counter, Um...I'll have a butterbeer please. He said in his New Zealand accent... the girl nodded and he through some coins on the counter after she handed him the drink..He looked around and chose to sit down near the window... well you're never gonna find it if you're looking for it

Aidan had been hesitant about going to Hogsmeade that day. Though all the students had been looking forward to it, and spending the better part of the day talking about what they'd buy and where they'd go, Aidan had been quite indifferent to it all. Truth be told, he'd rather be back in the common room. At least he'd be mostly alone, as only the younger students would occupy the space. Nevertheless, the idea of spending the day at The Three Broomsticks had been just as tempting to the Gryffindor as staying back at Hogwarts had been. He had given into the temptation and had ended up at the bar with his galleons in his hand, school robe on but open to reveal his school uniform. He wasn't sure where any of his friends were, and so was there alone. Not that it surprised him much.
He heard another boy place his order, the accent clear as he spoke. As soon as the other was done speaking, Aidan threw his own galleons down and said, "I'll have one, too," He took his own drink, gave the woman a curt thank you and left to find a place to sit down. His eyes fell on the newcomer. Curiosity had gotten the better of him. The boy definitely wasn't from around there. Even if the accent hadn't given it away, the fact that Aidan had never seem him around likely would have. He took a seat across from the other, Butterbeer in his hand as he said, "You're not from around here, are you?" before offering his hand, "I'm Aidan."

He said with a smile, How does your school run by the way? Do you have houses and such? We do at Durmstrang...five to be exact...I'm a seventh year by the way...what about you? He asked curiously of the other boy..he didn't know much about Hogwart's at all...Not of the actual school functions at least..he had only been aware of the location of the school since he had been sent to Hogesmeade.. well you're never gonna find it if you're looking for it

Aidan noted how the other had a firm grip that made his seem like the grip of a ten year old. He tried, however, not to be too self conscious about it as he pulled his hand away and dropped it back to his glass of butterbeer. Aidan heard the mention of Durmstrang, and his eyes lit up in even more curiosity as he stared at Kasper. Being Muggle born, what he knew about Durmstrang was only what he'd heard other Hogwarts students say. And of course, students would occasionally have biased opinions about other schools. Sometimes it seemed that his peers were no different. "What's Durmstrang like?" he asked, unable to contain his curiosity about it.
Aidan listened as Kasper asked his questions, grinning as he heard them. During his first year, he'd been just as confused about Hogwarts and had just as many questions. "We have houses, yes," he replied before taking a drink of his butterbeer. "There are four of them," he added after he swallowed the drink, "Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw. You'll want to avoid a great deal of the Slytherins," he said, bias clear in his voice, "I'm in Gryffindor myself. What are the houses at Durmstrang like? I'm in my sixth year, myself."

and it's all in how you mix the two and it starts just where the light exists
it's a feeling that you cannot miss and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it Kasper took a drink of his butter beer while the other boy asked what Durmstrang was like. He swallowed the warm liquid down his throat and smiled. Well..Durmstrang is like most wizarding schools. Well for the most part...The school has a main curriculum of Potions, The Dark Arts, Transfigurations, and D.A.D.A. Of course most people know the school because of it's anti-muggleborn policies...luckily though last year the Norwegian Ministry of Magic stepped in and forced several laws that forced the Headmaster to allow in Muggleborns in. Unfortunately the students haven't taken very well to it...and we had like three murders last year, including the Previous Headmaster, a blood traitor and a muggleborn. It's really sad but they have yet to find the murderer...I'm going to reopen the case if it's still unknown at the end of this school year...I knew the girl they called a blood traitor...she was such a sweet girl and they killed her and her muggle born friend. It's sickening...But that's just how it is at Durmstrang. Blood traitors beware is basically the thought of most student's there...so it's a bit dangerous and hostile there...and I gotta admit the students run a little more wild then most schools. They leave the grounds whenever they please...and of few of them hook up with Professor's I'm pretty sure...It's basically a whole mess of hostility and hormones. He said honestly with a slight smile.
So they had four houses, he thought for a moment on this...So what is wrong with the Slytherin house? Actually what are each of the houses like? He thought for a moment about his own houses, Well...Sjenert Katt is the house I was sorted into...It's the house of the wise basically. People with beautiful and creative minds.. Or the know it all's as they other houses call us. Then there is Isbjorn, they're a friendly lot...full of brave and friendly kids. They're easy to make friends..Then their is Haukstein, they are one of the two dark houses...they are social but also very calculated...they're ones who will use who they know and what they know to get what they want...Not the best friends to have. My twin brother was sorted into Mork Ulv, which is the second of the two dark houses...they are know for their addiction to the dark arts and potions but also for their mysterious qualities. They are very secretive and usually stick to each other...the whole lot of them are very against muggleborns and I really wouldn't be surprised if they were the cause for last year's murders...The final house is Enkelt Kanin...the muggleborn house..the only way the Headmaster would let them in is if has a separate house and a separate little living area outside of the castle walls...they have dorms near the woods away from the other students. The headmaster called this as a way to keep the pure blood untainted...What house are you in Hogwarts? well you're never gonna find it if you're looking for it

Aidan tilted his head in curiosity at the mention of The Dark Arts. He didn't think that Hogwarts had such a class. He couldn't deny that it sounded interesting. He wasn't one to be overly fascinated with such subjects, but curiosity was an easy emotion to give into. "The dark arts?" Aidan asked after taking another drink of his butterbeer. He couldn't hide that hint of interest in his eye, even if he'd tried. Aidan's eyes widened quite comically at the mention of it being anti-Muggleborn, but it wasn't until he said there'd actually been murders now that they were allowing Muggleborns that he coughed up some of the Butterbeer he'd sipped. "It sounds terrible," he said, more to himself than to Kasper. Of course, the main reason he thought so was that he himself was Muggleborn, "I guess most of the people there wouldn't like me very much then," he noted, "I hope the murders are solved. I'd hate to think someone could get away with something so terrible,"
Aidan laughed at Kasper's next comment. "Well, Hogwarts can be like that sometimes, too," he admitted, "I suppose any Wizarding school... or any school with teenagers at all, would be full of hormones," he joked. At his question about Slytherin, he gave a quick shrug, "Well, Slytherins tend to be very... arrogant," he said, slight bias obvious in his voice, "Hufflepuffs are the loyal type. Hardworking. Actually not that bad, really. They may be a little too patient at times, though. Ravenclaws are studious, wise, all that stuff. And lastly, you have Gryffindor, brave and bold," he finished as Kasper began to speak of the Durmstrang houses. "The houses don't sound all that different. Except, maybe, the dark arts part. Though, since Dark arts isn't on our curriculum, perhaps it just isn't as obvious. It stinks about the Muggleborn house, though. Sounds like another way to further alienate them. Anyway, I'm in Gryffindor."

it's a feeling that you cannot miss and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it Kasper nodded, Believe me the Dark Arts is not something you really want to learn. The fact that their teaching students the Dark Arts is kind unnerving...some of the students talents in the subject are frightening mastery type level...they practice on muggle prisoners from a near by Norwegian Prisoner and force the student to perform things such as the the forgivable curses and the worst of the potions on them. He told him with a sigh, It is no doubt my worse subject. He said honestly...
He sighed. No, I don't believe they would take to well to you then...we are not all racists though. Some of the students do not really have a problem with muggleborns... unfortunately, the other's and myself only make up a small fraction of the student body...with me gone, the fraction is only smaller. He sighed slightly at this. The murders are no where near solved yet sadly enough...who knows if they ever will be. He said sighing some more.
He listened as he explained the houses... and then told him which house he was in. I'm not sure which house I would of been sorted into if my parents had sent me to London instead of Norway....perhaps Ravenclaw or Gryffindor... He said with a smile. well you're never gonna find it if you're looking for it

Aidan looked at Kasper as he told him that the Dark Arts wasn't something he would want to learn. Kasper was probably right. Of course, Aidan couldn't help his curiosity. He wondered to himself why such a subject was even on their curriculum, but didn't ask. "The unforgivable curses?" Aidan asked, expression displaying the fear he clearly felt. He couldn't imagine performing such spells on anyone. Not even those students who he hated most. "I think it would be my worst subject, too," Aidan said softly, leaning back slightly in his chair as he stared at the space in front of him. "It all sounds like so much pressure," he said, "And here I always thought that learning how to defend myself against the dark arts was hard."
Aidan smiled nervously. He couldn't hide the nerves in the smile, but hoped that Kasper knew it wasn't directed at him specifically. It wasn't like Aidan wasn't aware that such prejudices were out there. He knew as well as anyone that there was a large amount of witches and wizards who did not take kindly to Muggle borns. What was the word he'd heard before? Mudblood. He smiled a genuine smile when Kasper told him that not all of them felt that way, including himself. "Well, some students is better than none at all. Some is a start," he said, "There are no leads at all?" Aidan smirked when Kasper wondered what house he'd be in. "Ravenclaw students are pretty cool. They're easier to get along with than a lot of people would have you believe," then, after a moment he said, "I think I can guess what house I'd be in at Durmstrang,"

it's a feeling that you cannot miss and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it Kasper nodded with a grin expression... Unfortunately yes..they force us to use them...I was beaten for refusing in class by the Headmaster himself who teaches the subject....I'll never forgive or forget that.... He muttered slightly, Since then...I have taken a beating each time the curses are asked of me...I simply can't do them...they're against my morals. He told him, Luckily...the Ministry of Magic has taken interest of me...or I'm sure the Headmaster of some other would of offed my by now...a blood traitor they call me....if it was for my brother Knox....I'm sure I wouldn't be standing here today...He has the opposite views on the subject and even excels in it...but his bond with me keeps him protectively by my side...we try not to let our difference break us apart. He mused slightly, I do particularly well in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration...it's why I am here...uh...and why the Norweigan Ministry has their eyes on me. He glanced nervously away realizing he had almost confessed information about the Triwizard Tournament to the other boy...
Kasper sighed... Between you and me...we only know two things for sure...the girls murders are connected and the second murder proves that the murderer is either also a werewolf or an Animagus wolf...he or she left the body destroyed. He told him with a deep sigh...He sighed slightly, Unfortunately so could I... He said apologetically.

Aidan's face softened sympathetically when Kasper said that he was beaten for refusing to use such curses. He tried for a minute to imagine himself in that position. He supposed that he would have just taken the beating, as well. The unforgivable curses were called unforgivable for a reason. He didn't believe that anyone should use them. "And they just get away with it?" he asked, eyes narrowed, "I think the curses would be against most people's morals," Aidan said, "I couldn't imagine using them on anyone," he thought about it a minute more and decided that he wouldn't even be able to use them on those who would not hesitate to do so to him. "I'd rather take the beating," he muttered.
"It's good you have your brother, at least," he said. Though, he wasn't sure whether it was or not. The bond sounded great, but him being the exact opposite didn't. At least, not to Aidan's mind. Still, he tried not to over analyze it. After all, he'd never met his brother. "I think it's good that you don't let your differences get between you. I think too many families do," he said, thinking of his own family and how his sisters, in many ways, envied his magic. "Why you're here?" he asked, but tried not to pressure the other into answering. "If it's an animagus, can't they find all the wolf animagi in the area and question them?" he wondered, "Or do they not keep records of animagi there?"

it's a feeling that you cannot miss and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it Kasper frowned slightly, Of course they do...they are a famous school that parent's are begging to get their children into...the school makes parents agree to the punishment and rules before they allow a student to attend the school...So yes they get away with it...with parents standing behind them thinking it's all such a good thing for their children.. He said bitterly, I never wanted to go to Durmstrang...but when my brother decided to go their instead of the school in New Zealand I felt the need to follow him...at least one good thing came out of it though...I am engaged to a gorgeous girl and we have a set of twins, a girl and a boy....as well as an excellent career in the Auror department in my future...so at least all the pain and suffering has helped me some what. He said with a small frown.
He tiptoed around his almost slip carefully, Yes, they think that Hogwart's has something to offer me in my last year of training that I would be wise to accept... He smiled slightly at this, They do keep record... unfortunately... there are several different Animagi wolves as well as a pack of werewolves and no one is talking...and everyone has alibis...it's an unfortunate mess. He told him.

Aidan frowned, too, letting out a solemn sigh. It all sounded so horrible. He couldn't imagine why parents would let their kids go to such a school, but tried not to think about it. Instead, his mind wandered to the Muggle born students. He wondered idly if their parents were even aware of what was going on. "It sounds absolutely terrible," Aidan said, taking a sip of his drink, "Do the parents of Muggleborns have to agree to it, too?" he asked curiously, "Or are they completely in the dark about it all?" He thought about his own parents. They were still in the dark when it came to the Wizarding world, and nothing like that kind of stuff even happened at Hogwarts. "I don't blame you for wanting to follow your brother. Separation from siblings can be hard," he said, thinking of his own siblings, "You have twins?" he asked with a smile.
Aidan nodded, accepting his words as reasonable. He wasn't sure of which school would be best for a potential auror, so he didn't question the logic. "Well, welcome to Hogwarts and I hope they're right," he said with a smirk. He nodded at the next sentence. "That makes sense. It sounds like an unfortunate mess. I imagine it isn't easy knowing which alibis are truth and which ones aren't."

it's a feeling that you cannot miss and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it Kasper sighed.Well the muggleborn parents are either oblivious because their children are to afraid to speak out or they think that sending them to Durmstrang is a noble thing to do...that their children will be written down in history as the first to break through the racists borders of the school...It is rather sad when you think about it...most of the muggleborns do not even want to be there...they are forced by their parents for various reasons but it is they who suffer from it. He told him grimly.
As the conversation turned lighter he let a small smile spread across his lips, Yes I do...One little girl names Marietta and one little boy name Blaine. They are only a few months old but already showing magical abilities believe it or not. Marietta's has the gorgeous blond locks you see, her mother is a Veela half blood, and every time we try to cut them shorter...well they grow over night as if we never touched them at all...Blaine has been levitating himself around the house...its frightening but really cute. He said with a grin at the thought.
He nodded, No, it's not easy at all. He said with a slight frown, We will get them eventually and they will eat their just dessert. He told him.

Aidan sighed, too as Kasper explained the situation further. "I don't know which is worse," he admitted, "The being oblivious or the thinking that it's a good thing. If I had to choose between that kind of treatment and just leading a Muggle life, I think I'd opt for the Muggle life, to be perfectly frank," and he would. He didn't think being a Muggle was so bad. They had cars, and TVs, and phones, and computers. All things that made their lives easier. It wasn't like they were living in the dark ages any more. He nodded in agreement, "It is rather sad all around. Do they have to stay until they finish? Here, you can leave when you're of age if you want without suffering from it. I suppose some places are different, though. I hear in some places if you do that, getting a job is near impossible,"
Aidan grinned. He couldn't help but let out a somewhat girlish Awww when Kasper explained the two. "I believe it," he said, "My mum said that my sister and I showed some signs early on. Of course, back then, she thought she was losing her mind. Still, I guess some people do show magical ability early," His eyes lit with curiosity at the mention of a veela. He'd heard of Veelas in school, but had never met one. "A veela?" he asked curiously. He snickered at the mention of levitating, "It's hard to imagine someone so young levitating around the house. Yeah, I bet it would be frightening," A frown pressed its way onto his own face when Kasper agreed, "I hope you do," he said.

it's a feeling that you cannot miss and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it Kasper nodded and then smiled, My mother always thought I would run away from the wizarding world when I was younger and never come back. I have always found the muggle world so appealing...the music...the government...the schooling...I can't help but be jealous...life seems so simple for the muggles. He murmered and then smiled. He really loved many muggle things..and in truth, he had thought of leaving the magical world behind several times but when he met Adele...well she had changed his mind, They may leave when they choose to after they come of age...however, finding jobs is rather hard without graduating...nothing really out there for you except maybe shopkeeper or waitress. He said with a sigh.
He smiled, Yes, she is a Veela. He said with a smile, She's a sweet girl...never has used her powers against me and she never would need to either way. He said smirking slightly at that thought.
He took a sip of his butter beer and smiled, So what brings you into this town? He asked curiously.
