“That’s the point Jacoby, that’s all in how I play in order to be able to tell who is who no matter the disguise and that will prove useful for not only you but for Hecate as well when the time comes.” She said thinking carefully wondering how well he would take the fact that she wasn’t the person who everyone hoped she would be in the end.
“He is a good guy but he is worse then I am when it comes to being able to read minds. He can get in a lot easier and a person normally would feel it if I enter their minds but when he does, no one can feel it. Yes, she adopted him when he was still in school but he didn’t attend school here at Hogwarts, he attended another school but the France school. He had grown up in an orphanage when he was younger and when he killed his father at the age of 13 years old or so she took him in. Yes, to a point, but not as well as my sister though, I never grew up with him like she had.” she said shrugging.
“Oh I don’t want to scan. I think it rude remember I just find it hard enough to keep to the surface there is no need to do so now. No, at least those who you don’t know or never will know or those who mean to harm you in either way possible. I wouldn’t be able to deny that. That’s why we have been harder and harder to trust you know Jacoby, we always have and always will be hard to understand, witches and wizards regardless of who it is either the light or the dark no one is always understandable regardless if you have powers to read their life’s story.” She said nodding.
Eclipse watched him curiously wondering if he would be alright. He wasn’t one that would think that he deserved to have a heart attack in front of her and she would never wish that on anyone but she would if it was to get to what she wanted. Though he wasn’t the person in her way, at least not now anyway but he wasn’t the one that needed to be destroyed, it was Luna. Her main goal was to get to Luna and if she could get to her she could destroy Luna’s very existence and in order to do that she would have to pledge her loyalty for that main thing which she knew would kill Selene but she had to. Unlike Tony, she wouldn’t be a double agent, she never would play that role for it would get in her way for that, it wasn’t her goal in order to do that either, she wanted to take over but not for the fact of the stone, it was more…to conquer the world.
“Hmm….ok. If a person can learn how to block everything it would take to much effort to block every little thing of a person such as the surface as well and it doesn’t go to well.” She said feeling the energy in the room change and she just let it drop cause it wouldn’t be great. “I guess it depends on the person though, those who don’t know how to hide their emotions in their eyes. To me the eyes are doorways to a person’s soul a way to know who they are but I do agree that it does depend on the person. The body is easy to see that a person is lying but remember it could also be a bad habit or something that they always do regardless but it could lead to a lie or covers a lie or proves they are lying. Hmm.” She said with a slight frown on her face.
“Well I am not it is one of the things you must know, I am not at all like that and I can tell you this now, I have had people say I was innocent when they think I am but I had to show them that I am not. A person can’t, the only people who are innocent are children, children are the only people in the world that are completely innocent in prospect of us. At least the younger children. Any Auror isn’t as innocent as they come, they have had to deal with things far worse then those people who don’t know have.” She said shrugging slightly. She is and you should talk to her sometime, she doesn’t bite you know, at least not hard.” She said nodding in agreement but there was something else on her mind now that bothered her the most.
“That day will come because of who I am. Something I don’t wish to share with you now, you will see when I am willing to share with you and it isn’t something I share lightly it’s not that shareable. It’s what made me who I am and because of that I had to learn to hide what I am carefully and skillfully to make sure no one would know of my past. Yes…I was. I am not happy about that because of what had to be done and you will see why, darkness…always darkness.” She said.
She watched him carefully after she had given some of her memories of this place to him. It was not something she was happy about but it showed him what she had to live through daily and see each killing experience each and every heart throbbing strike of the whip. Each and everything she had shown him was something she wished to forget and everything was something she couldn’t. It was what made her who she was today but it wasn’t something she liked revisiting in the least.
“Now you can understand why to some degree, in reasons that I don’t ever want to revisit those memories. Each and every one of them were just as painful if not worse then that one. Each had hurt, each had been to brutal and something that was hard on me and many of those who I was with. It’s not something a person can forget easily or willingly and I am not about to do that.” She said in a low voice.
“I hope so cause then, it would be easier for you to catch more dark witches and wizards but then again, you have to be careful because if we rely on all of this then when we capture all of them, you would be out of the job pretty much. I doubt that you would want to not have a job. Sometimes I wonder if I did or not and other times I wish I fully knew what I had gone through myself but sometimes I am just glad I made it out alive.” She said with slight smile but then frowned again.
She could tell that he was uneasy about what he had seen and gone through already but she didn’t blame him, she never blamed who she had shown, which was very rare of her to do so. Especially if she had shown someone what happened, the full story, the ended up dying twenty four hours later for the fact she didn’t want to be caught. She had been killing for years though she had kept it quiet for a very long time and the only thing was, she killed those who deserved death or stood in her way to get what she wanted and they didn’t last long. She didn’t want to kill him, that’s why she gave him only part of her memory only a small portion so that she wouldn’t have to. She didn’t want his death on her hands especially since he was to close, to close to her aunt and she would wonder where Jacoby went if he didn’t return with her.
She chuckled slightly when he tried to get the shield up but wasn’t fast enough for it, everything was agility to her and if she didn’t move quick, she would die and it was all a game for her a game that she didn’t want to lose. She didn’t like what she had to do but in the end it would prove to him that she was not weak and that she knew what she was doing and that she could do her job with little to no stress on her plate. This was something she knew that she could do and she would not back down, not after the many years of training she had to already face and this was nothing to her. She couldn’t help the dark look that was creeping up in her face, it was something that always happened and people got worried that she got possessed or even worse, they were right about the even worse part, she was like the ocean, a force that should not be messed with.
She turned and snickered at him, the fool to think that spells or anything would fully work to the point. Yes she faced death directly in the face before but nothing was like the things she faced before. The magic she had to deal with was a major weaving group which dealt with more weavers magic then wand magic and the lore was more difficult to understand. Though they did use wands but it was so very rare to see them with a wand that it was almost a guarantee that they would kill you with the weavers magic, with what spell, no one knew that was the tricky part.
“This is exactly what you wanted Jacoby. No holding back, no mercy no nothing.” She said and chuckled at the spell and held up her hand and, only under a trained eye, caught it but what held it there was a force field, something very similar to a shield but it protected the skin from burning or reacting to what he had thrown at her. She looked up at him in a facial expression that read ‘really?’. That’s when she chucked the spell back at him then disappeared from sight.
She landed right behind him but the thing was she made very little to absolutely no noise when she landed behind him. She sent another weavers spell and a few others and secretly put something in the ground. When she was knelt down to the ground examining the blood spill she had refused the spells in the ground that the gypsies used to keep them on their toes and it was all stealth and she remembered where each one was, they were like land minds but worse.
She remembered a way to make all her enemies, during the time try to find her and it was useful when it came to the last part of the game. It was a sheer echo where it would lead people one way where she wouldn’t be there but behind them or come out in a different direction or area. She started to sing this one song that Selene taught her which she made echo off of everything but lead him inside the castle itself where she would fallow him and she disappeared again from behind him behind a large tower where she would change her appearance and she did to that of a small boy that she had killed years ago and she would use that look for now pretending to be something else.

"I'm aware," he said dryly, ironically unaware of his current tone of voice. Words just slipped past his lips without him giving them any thought. How often had Jonathan had to tell him when he'd said something rude? Or spoken something with venom? And how often had he not even known? Her next words, though, drew out the slightly chipper side of him and he perked up for a moment, though his face still displayed that same expression he wore more often than not, "Well, if Hecate believes that, I'm inclined to believe so, too. After all, the way the department is being run these days proves that she's doing something right," he said. Sure, it may have been some bias. But one could not deny she knew what she was doing when she picked Aurors.
"Does he do it often?" Jacoby asked, referring to Tony getting into minds easier than she could. He could not mask the curiosity on his face even if he tried. Not that he wanted to. Jacoby was the type of person who happened to like learning about new things as much as he could. He had been in Ravenclaw for a reason. "So, if he did and didn't mention it to me, I'd be none the wiser?" Jacoby asked, both fascinated and nervous at the same time. He supposed, if he never gave them reason to feel inclined to, it wouldn't be a problem. Though, realistically, he knew that it would come down to that one day. (for everyone has their skeletons, as he had said once before) In the end, he could lie all he wanted. But he knew it wouldn't work. "Beauxbatons?" he asked, "I think that's the French school, anyway. "Killed?" he asked curiously.
"None at all," he said more to himself than to Eclipse. "Everyone is hiding something," Jacoby said, "and you never know when it will directly affect you. Whether they mean to harm you in the end or not is irrelevant," He smirked lightly when she said that no one was understandable. Truer words had never hit his ears. He supposed that even if you knew everything about a person - from what they thought, to how they reacted to everything around them - that person was still a mystery. For that person was not you. The only person who could ever understand, was they themselves. And even then, for some people, it was a mystery. "I have to say, Ipswitch," he said lightly, "I agree with you. As much as we may wish we could understand others, we likely never will,"
He thought about her words for a moment. It was one of the rare times in which Jacoby actually did think about what he was going to say. "I bet it would take a lot out of someone to block so much," he said, "I can't imagine it's easy. I wouldn't even waste the effort. Maybe just learn to block the embarrassing bits," he joked lightly. And there were embarrassing bits he wouldn't want her or anyone else seeing. "Which is, admittedly, most people," he said, "Most don't realize that they're the tell tale sign. That's true, too," he replied, "For example, people who are nervous over all might avoid eye contact. That doesn't mean they're lying. It could be an inferiority complex. The same way one with a superiority complex might make eye contact even when he is lying," he rambled.
Jacoby snickered lightly, the idea of one assuming anyone was entirely innocent amusing to his mind. As much as he loved Jonathan, he wouldn't even make that assumption about him. Of course, it all depended on ones definition of innocence. Sure, one who had never taken a life was innocent in that respect, but that didn't mean he or she had never done wrong elsewhere. "I will not be one of those people," he promised, "because I agree with you. Innocence belongs only to children and pets. Beyond that, it's nothing more than an illusion. And it will even fade from a child's eyes once he reaches a certain age. Some, younger than others," he said, thinking specifically of Jon, "Much worse," he said, voice just a tad bitter as he agreed. Not that he didn't like his job. Quite the contrary. He merely didn't like some of the things he'd had to do over the past decade. "I know," he said, chuckle a bit forced when she tacked on the hard.
A brief thought passed his mind that he didn't entertain for long. I hope such a day comes before mine, How he managed to keep the words from slipping past his lips, not even Jacoby knew. He was vaguely aware that he'd begun to mouth the first two, but somehow quickly swallowed them. As though chocking on something bitter. It was always so hard for Jacoby to control what slipped from his mouth. "We'll see," is what he managed to choke out instead. The words seeming far more forced than he intended. "I won't force you to share what you don't want to," he said, "You don't have to be happy about it," he said bluntly, "but at least be happy for your survival," he added. After all, one was only given so much time.
Jacoby nodded. He was sure he'd never fully understand. Not unless she wanted him to, he supposed. But maybe it was better that he didn't. "No matter how deep you bury bad memories," he said carefully, "they always find a way to resurface," He frowned, arms folded loosely as he listened to her words. He grinned slightly, shaking his head, "No, I don't want to be out of a job. But we never would capture all of them," he said confidently. "For every one that's made his move, there's another that is waiting for the right time. As you should be," he said, catching her frown but not commenting on it.
Yes. This was what he wanted. He hadn't had warning of what she'd done, but he wouldn't have out there, either. If she grasped that already, even better. "No talking, either," he said boldly, words slipping out thoughtlessly. There was his lack of a filter again, refusing to stop the words before he spoke them. Not that they were bad advice. After all, speaking when really on the job could mean the difference between life or death. He was quicker this time, shield protecting him just as she disappeared from sight. He knew well enough not to trust the silence. She could have been anywhere. Granted, the minds of dark witches, dark wizards, and other such criminals were easier for him... but at that moment, he was going to assume she was one. That was the best assumption to make. If he thought she was acting like one, he was in a familar situation. Just doing what he knew how to do.
She was gone. He apparated on the spot, certain she might show up not far from where he stood. The shadows. He hung there for a minute. Watching, waiting. If she wanted to play hardball, he could, too. He didn't need any special magic. He had grown so used to his wand, that in many ways, it had become an extension of himself. He supposed that all Wizards who relied on wands were like that. Aurors, maybe more so. For an Aurors life truly depended on his wand. He heard the noise echo around him. He felt compelled to go to the castle. But deep down, he knew this was probably part of her ploy. He remained where he stood, momentarily concealed. He tried to put himself on the job. Thought about what he would have to do if this was a dark witch who might end his life if he made the wrong move. And maybe she was. It was never safe to assume someone was or wasn't. Standing where he was, it would be impossible to catch the suspect. If this were a job, he would have to go inside the castle and he'd have to be as careful and quiet as possible. He eyed the door, setting his sights on the location. He couldn't get too close to the door, but he couldn't see that far, either. Without another thought, he focused on the area he could see and apparated again, entering the castle. He moved silently, creeping through the way he had been trained to. Feeling certain he'd find her soon, if she didn't find him first.

“I really hope you are aware of that Jacoby, I really hope you are for if not then that may be a problem. If that’s a problem, we need to find a way to fix it but I will not be the one to try to force you to understand for a person needs to understand it on their own.” She said a little coolly or, if at all, coldly. Sometimes, more often then not, she would sound cold and sometimes even mean but she had grown up to be like that, to be hard and in order to do things she had to have them realize that she had to be hard on people.
“If she believes that I would too. She is a good head of department and strong willed when it comes to training and things that are meant to get done. She tries to do something right all the time even if it means it isn’t always best for her, she thinks what is best for those around her rather then herself.” She said in understanding that her aunt knew what she was doing in order to make sure that this department ran the way it did and how it should keep up with everything and she knew her Aunt was tough.
“Many times because he wants to know the person, get inside their heads to see if they are good and bad. It’s his defense and he uses it all the time to read and hear people and he uses it to his advantage. He knows when and how to use it really well and he doesn’t mean any harm by it but he will use it to his advantage to protect not only himself but others around him to know what the person is thinking before they attack or harm themselves. He has helped Hecate in more cases then not when it came down to catching criminals he was, along with Nerefon, a great asset here along with the others as well. She counts on the skills of each Auror here more then you may think.” She said thinking about how her aunt worked about this department.
“Exactly. He doesn’t like talking about his ability to be a mind reader because he likes using it to protect the innocent, well the person that will be attack by dark wizards and witches. It’s his asset to this department along with Nerefon’s and neither of them like talking about that ability. It’s something that we mind readers don’t like talking about very much and if you ever do ask we will only tell you just enough to get by.” She said carefully though giving him enough information to get him by for now until he had gone through her trials that she was going to take him through in how she survived.
“Yes, he had gone there till he graduated and was taught by Hecate herself when he decided to become an Auror. He killed his own father accidentally though but his father was also a very abusive parent and he never treated Tony right but his name is cleared because he was young and didn’t know he had the power to be what he was and it runs not only in the pure blood families though it is very selective but it runs in some of the muggle borns as well.” She said knowing her sister was slowly teaching a muggle born.
“Everyone is always hiding something and that something is always either good or bad determining on who the person is Jacoby. Sometimes it’s for the better and others it’s for the worst possible way we just need to wait and listen when they are ready to tell what they want to share about themselves. That is true, we will never know until it happens and by that time we have to fight through it in order to survive what is thrown our way.” She said reliving her past.
She remembered how she had to do what they made her do when she was living with the gypsies and no matter what she had to fight her way through it and many times it nearly killed her. The strength she had gained from it was something she praised herself and held dear to herself because if she hadn’t grown up and fought through what she did she wouldn’t be the fighter she was today. She was a fighter and she would fight to the death, no matter who she was fighting, she was going to die trying to live through it or survive and she wanted to choose the survival even if it meant pain.
“We could never understand everyone and if we did we wouldn’t be in the sticky place we are today to ensure people’s safety. That’s why we will never truly understand people because we are always full of mystery.” She said with a small snicker as she looked back up at him when he had said her last name, just like the leader of the gypsies used to call her by and almost in the same way too.
“It usually does but if a person learns how to block and protect certain things it is easier then trying to block your whole mind from an invader. If there is certain things you want to hide you learn to hide them in something that they can’t access. Many ways it isn’t easy for those who don’t know how to block those who are mind readers and are not blocked by occulemency. That would be a start. I would have to agree with that though.” She said and sighed.
“I have to agree with you. I would have to say that when I was away and being held and fighting for my survival and after the battle with the others I was held to investigate people and was held as second in command there. The reason why was because of my abilities and knowing when people were lying and when they weren’t and the gypsies used me to see if there were traitors and if they could trust the people who they were working with to get what they needed. Many would not make eye contact and they had this way about them that I knew instantly when they were lying.” She said understanding completely.
She knew that no one was particularly innocent though they might have had a clean record to a point but that didn’t mean that they were actually innocent. She knew that she didn’t have a clean record her record was full of the deaths she had committed while she was surviving out in the wilderness but that was because she was forced to play that game. A person didn’t have to kill but they could break rules, do things they are not supposed to in which would make them less innocent but some were more or less, less innocent then others.
“Yes, they do belong to the children and pets for they are not asked to break rules or kill in the cold cruel world we live in and we shouldn’t have to live in this world we do but we have to. But yes beyond that it is nothing more then a mirage that plays tricks on our minds. I bet and I can tell you I wouldn’t hold any child accountable for anything they didn’t do.” She said and thinking about Willow.
She watched him carefully though being very careful not to slip into his mind again for which she didn’t want to have to try to stop herself from going into his mind. She understood people better then most thought but she never really liked talking about such things cause it hurt her to much to know people and then have to fight them because she knew them. She wondered what he was thinking about though but didn’t dare ask cause what he was thinking and all, was of course up to him to tell her if he wanted to and she wasn’t going to make him.
“We shall see though in the end. I don’t expect you too but I have ways of sharing if I want to do thus and how I do it is not a kind way. I am never happy about what I did but I am happy about my survival to be where I am today. I wouldn’t be here, before you, if I had given up and I will tell you this, I will not give up until I accomplish what I have to and I am not a person who will easily give up.” She said determined to fight.
“I agree but in many ways I wish that they wouldn’t resurface because none of them were ever good memories and many were the worst kinds of which I am not happy to have. I regret what I did but many of things I did were to make sure I survived and I hated every moment of killing those around me but I did it because I had no choice. It was kill or be killed and I chose to kill and the people I did were those that were my friends.” She said shaking her head remembering her friends that she had to kill in order to survive and she regretted doing that but then again she was alive and that is what mattered right now.
“No one ever wants to be out of the job, who ever wants to lose their jobs but then again no one ever does. No, we wouldn’t. I guess so though and I am ready.” She said snickering.
She knew this was exactly what he wanted and that she was not going to go lightly, though her not going lightly usually meant death which was something she didn’t want. He was not her target to kill but a target none-the-less and if he wanted her to ‘attempt’ to kill him so be it but he had done nothing wrong to her to make her want to kill him. That was her problem, usually she only targeted those who had attempted to harm her in some way or pissed her enough off to get them on her hit list. Jacoby was not on her hit list but she was going to play along, something she had played for years and something she had done well to play. She didn’t talk after she had said what she wanted to say and she was not going to and if she was going to speak it was something she was going to say and in a completely different way and language which would confuse him even more…maybe.
She knew what she had to do and it was not the easiest job but she would have to make illusions to make this turn out the way she wanted it. She smiled when he used the shield charm to protect him this time he was quicker about it and she was glad that he was she didn’t want him harmed just ruffed up a little bit. She wouldn’t put it past him that he would eventually find her but then again she was going to play a little game, her game and see how he would deal with the trials she had to deal with when growing up. She knew that she would be considered an enemy, a witch dealing with darkness and in this case, with him not really knowing, she was actually and she played that part very well and she would have him witness that.
She now in the form of the boy, which she had to shrink to be roughly 4 foot 9 inches tall, watched Jacoby carefully wondering what he was going to do. She had very little time, in her own opinion, to set up everything that she wanted to in order to play the game. She had watched carefully watching him learn not to stand in specific spots on the ground which she had to smile at. She wondered how he would fair in the castle, or remains of the castle itself she could sense that some of the that some of the tests and magical instruments that the Gypsies had placed where still holding and were ready only if someone set them up. She watched as she wanted to see how hard she should push him in this place wondering, hoping he could take what was going to be thrown his way. She was going to play the game but she also was setting up every little detail that would be suspected so that she could move in for the attack, this time though she was disguised and she had a motive for that too. She had delt with the shadows and hid in them as well but also could use the shadows to her own advantage as well and had them wrap around her easily as she gently placed a hand, not taking her eyes off of Jacoby, on the wall and set the traps on.
She had a grin on her face as she watched him, knowing that the motive was slowly sinking in. Either he would stand there wondering what she was planning on doing and where she was or enter the building and she knew she would have to attack soon…very soon. He would get to comfortable or worse…way to on edge and that may make the building go into ruin if he panicked to much. She knew that he would eventually have to make a move and right now she wasn’t going to let him know exactly where she was at but she would soon, very soon she would show him just what she was capable of.
She slowly fallowed him inside having the shadow conceal her and she slowly walked ahead of him making no noise but soon through the main entrance she, after she had passed them, had the torches burn with a bright fire. She made her decision and she went on ahead where it was darker and she made what was old bones of the dead, move like the living and disguised it to look exactly like her with her magic. she, still in the boy form was held by the old bones and her own wand held to her neck and she began crying to make him fallow where she was. She tapped her foot three times setting off the ancient magic to explode where he was sending different hexes and curses his way.
“Помогите мне… кто-то… любое… сохранить меня от ее!” (Help me...someone...anyone...save me from her!) she said in a Russian accent.

"I wouldn't say that I am if I weren't," he replied, eyeing her as he spoke the words. His mouth twitched into a quick smirk when she said that might be a problem. Yes, it most certainly would be a problem if he wasn't aware. He supposed he'd have to be awfully dense to not realize that was the point. And Jacoby didn't quite like the idea of being considered dense. "It's not a problem," he assured her, "So, there will be no need to fix anything," he said, not bothered by the way she'd spoken so coldly. He had grown used to people speaking to him as such long ago. He wasn't one to take it personally. After all, he often spoke in the same tone.
"I cannot argue with that," he said with a confident nod. Sure, he didn't spend enough time getting to know his coworkers. Granted, it wasn't like he hadn't tried. Rather, it was hard for someone like him. Nevertheless, he had a habit of watching them even if he nor they realized he'd been doing it. "I think that's what's most important," he said, looking at her for a brief moment. And he did. Even despite everything he had done over the years, it had all been done with the well being of someone in mind. Even if it wasn't the people he, as an Auror, should have been concerned about. "Granted, I often think of myself more than others. That's why I'm not head of the department despite being the same age as Hecate," he joked.
"Sometimes, what's in our heads isn't the best indicator of whether we are good or bad," Jacoby argued tentatively. He wasn't sure he should be saying what he was saying. But he couldn't stop the words from slipping out of his thoughts and into the air between them. "Sometimes, good people do bad things. Just because someone has bad thoughts, or remembers doing something bad, doesn't mean they're a bad person. The idea of good and bad is so black and white," he rambled thoughtlessly, "It's shoving people into categories. Even some so called bad people think that what they're doing is right. So, couldn't it be argued that they're not bad, either?" he said cryptically, "I can see how he would use it to his advantage, though. Being able to know what a suspect is about to do before he even does it would prove useful, wouldn't it?" he smiled at her next words, nodding. Even he was a valuable asset. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be there, "I know that she does."
He nodded. He supposed that it made sense. If they told everyone about what they could do, eventually someone would tell the wrong person. (Someone like you?) He pushed the thought deep down, chewing mindlessly on the cuticle of his right index finger as she spoke. He was happy when the subject was changed again, not wanting his thoughts to wander. "Lucky man," Jacoby said, "I don't even remember the main Auror who trained me. Didn't leave much of an impression," he nodded when she spoke about Tony's father, not showing any emotions on the subject either way.
"Waiting is the hardest part, though," he said, "But some people. They would rather keep it to themselves. It's safer that way. They're safer that way," he realized he was speaking way too much and cut himself off. He eyed her curiously after she finished speaking. Eyes on her until she spoke again. "Exactly. Everyone is full of mystery. It is irrelevant whether you can read their thoughts or not, really. Because you will never get the full experience unless you become that person. And barring a polyjuice potion, that's not possible. And of course, the polyjuice potion only changes the appearance, not the essense inside."
He caught the snicker but didn't point it out. He was used to having such strange reactions to something he had done or said. Whether someone was snickering, or laughing at him, he had grown accustomed to it. "So, they could like, block one thing from an invader but not other things? If they knew how to do it?" he asked curiously, "But occulemency doesn't work against you?" he added, leaning back slightly as he wondered about his words. He nodded at her words, eyeing her cautiously. "You didn't even have to read their minds," he said, "Or, I'm assuming so. With some. It's just so easy to know. You can look at them and tell, instantly, that they are liars. There are Muggles who are trained to know. Aurors are, too, in many ways," he noted. Not that he was trying to down the ability. He was just stating his opinion. And a fact. Both of which Jacoby did without much thought at all.
"Not necessarily," he noted, "Children and pets both are often taught to break the law for their parents or owners. Maybe even kill for them. They cannot be held accountable for it, though," he added, "For they don't understand what they're doing. Don't realize that it's wrong. So even if they have harmed someone, unless the child is a budding pyschopath, it is usually not their fault. No, generally they are not held accountable, anyway. It depends on circumstance and age," He smiled lightly when she said she would not give up. He liked those words. They were like music to his ears. An Auror who would give up was not an Auror he wanted to work with at all. "Good," he said, "Because I will not, either."
"One memory at a time," he said idly, thinking about Lloyd as he spoke the words. What little he knew about him, he had picked up from conversations he'd had with either Marcus or Jonathan. He knew enough, though, to know that Lloyd had many memories he hadn't faced yet himself. He, also, knew enough to know that hiding those kind of memories was not good for ones mental health. "We all have memories that we do not want. Some of us, more so than others. In any case, you had no choice. So, it's like we said about children who are forced into crime... you cannot be held accountable, right? Still. One memory at a time," he said.
Death. Kill. That was a language Jacoby knew well. In his line of work, he faced such threats every day of his life. Yet, he went to work anyway, prepared to face it again. Because he knew someone had to do it. Mostly, though, because he liked doing it. He'd never admit it to a fellow Auror for fear of being thought mentally dangerous for the job, but he happened to like being in danger. There was something invigorating about knowing that one wrong move, one wrong step, one wrong word could be the difference between life or death. He knew that either of them aiming to kill would be foolish. They'd be looking at a real long time in Azkaban, especially both being Aurors. But in his mind, he was still going to think of this as a job. He wouldn't trust anything he saw. When you were a Wizard, nothing was ever what it appeared to be.
He could deal with being a bit roughed up. He liked the idea even. If he went him looking rough, it meant the training had gone well. It meant she was already on the right path. He didn't care what she did, nor how she did it. Unconventional or not. What mattered was that she knew what she was doing. As long as she wouldn't die the first time she was put up against a real dark wizard, they would be all right. As he moved through the castle, he thought to himself, watch your step, Jacoby. this isn't your territory. And so he did. Every step was taken carefully, quietly, so as not to make a sound. The way he had been trained to so long ago. Wand held in one hand, eyes scanning the area. He heard the crying and smirked. He wasn't sure whether it was a trap or not. As he had already decided, this wasn't his territory and he shouldn't trust anything he heard or saw.
Regardless of his hesitation, he headed that way. Feet quiet against the ground, never making a sound. It was harder to hide with the torches burning, and using his wand to snuff out the flames would give off his location. Nevertheless, he managed to stay concealed. Creeping from along the walls as he moved. The first hex flew at him. His shield was up instantly. He held it in place as the next curse came from him, and then the next. The explosion of spells, however, had knocked him back a step. His back collided with the wall and he grunted in frustration. But he wouldn't give up.
He apparated away from the area, avoiding a spell that would have struck him on the chest. He wasn't sure whether the scene was real or not. But he pointed his wand regardless, not moving from the spart where he was hidding, and muttered a silent "Expelliarmus,", wanted pointed. He knew he was staring at what appeared to be bones and a boy, but he was certain he couldn't believe what his eyes were seeing. After all, they weren't Muggles. In their world, anything was possible. And it was possible that one of them was her, or that they were no one at all. Either way, he felt this was meant as a distraction. So he remained on guard, wand at the ready.

She didn't respond to what he had said but the only indication that she did hear and did even to the slightest inclining that she did respond was her slight tilt to the head and a smile. She knew that if a person wasn't aware of what was around them, they could end up dead at any given time regardless of what or how they prepare themselves.
"I guess there isn't anything we can't do much about it except if we want to change, the only way to change it is to change what we don't like what or who we are. We just have to accept it no matter what." she said thoughtfully but still briskly.
"I guess a person can't. You should talk to her some time though, she is very nice and she would listen to you and take the time to talk to you if you so chose to do so. She cares about every single person in this office more then many would. Sometimes that is what is wrong in the world. Many people think what is best for themselves and sometimes that leads into troubled waters. But yes that is one of the many reasons maybe." she said with a hint of a smile at the joke.
"That may be true because people can change thoughts or memories to what they want them to be or have them corrupted in making sure that no one can access the right information out of them. Thats why I like the saying: darkness doesn't always equate to evil and light doesn't always equate to good. I would have to agree that it is shoving people into categories that they don't belong in. It depends on the person's frame of mind. It is useful to have and yes she does." she said.
"Well maybe...Hecate could help you sometime. Just ask her about it she really doesn't bite though she does have a bad temper if you push her hard enough to get to that point which I advise you never do. I am sorry to hear that your auror who trained you didn't leave a mark." she said.
"It is but thats why you have to wait you can't jump in. I know how that goes, I like that too and it is safer that way. Some times they are but not all the time. They are and that's what I like, they are a jigsaw puzzle to me. It's true though, what you say." she said nodding.
“It depends on how big or small things are and how many things you want to hide. Also it takes some training too. Yes, if they know how to do it yes but the more a person practices, the more they can hide.” She said nodding and remembered during training how she had to learn how to hide things from people and train her mind to do such things.
“Occulemency doesn’t because it’s not exactly the same thing. It’s a little bit different then that but they are like twin brothers the same, yet different almost like the good twin and the bad twin in some cases. No it doesn’t. It is easy to know just by looking at them but yes that is understandable.” She said agreeing to a point.
She thought about what he said before she answered to what he had to say. He was right though that children and pets and children would do what they are told because they were taught to obey and to do what they are told. Though the pets and children couldn’t be held accountable for the mistakes of their parents or guardians.
“I agree with you, it’s not the child’s fault or the pets fault. They are only doing what they are told because they do not know any better because they were taught to do what they were told and if they don’t they get hurt. Though if they are older they should know whats right and what is wrong and should know what they should do and what they shouldn’t do. Young children and animals do not know any better they just think the parents are right.” She said frowning slightly as she heard screams in her head as the fights she faced played through her head.
“If a person can actually do a memory at a time though I doubt any one can due to the fact that if one memory comes they all come rushing forth and that is the worst bit. We all have a choice though but sometimes the choices we have are not always the best of choices to actually have. No, I guess not.” She said with a small smile on her face.
She wondered how far she should push him…she didn’t like pushing those she just met to what she had to somewhat deal with. Her life was not his and this place was the life she had always known and it was not the one that she ever wanted to live up to ever because of everything that it held for her. If a person ever got to know her they would know that she had always liked playing the dangerous game of hide and go seek but watch out I have set traps. She was always the one that was dangerous she was the favorite in her family yes but she had a streak that no one knew and it was the dangerous type that she had always liked. Playing hard was the thing she had always liked doing for if it wasn’t hard, it wasn’t worth it.
‘Never trust anything you see inside this place Jacoby, every step and around every corner there is a trap. You have been warned of this.’ Eclipse whispered through his mind toying with him slightly.
She loved the idea playing cat and mouse with people and it was a game she played well with others and it was always her that had the last laugh. Especially when she and Selene were growing up and Selene had had bullies picking on her she had always made sure that those who did the bullying were hurt enough to never do it again. Her games were never the games anyone has ever played for they were corrupted. She snickered again at his thoughts, she was not going to play the nice person in this, she never would and this was something she knew well.
‘Don’t doubt this Jacoby…what I had to do was something that was far darker then most things. I lived with dark witches and wizards most of my life, this is nothing new. Welcome to my hell.’ She said smirking with an evil glint in her eyes.
She waited patiently, she was patient and she would wait for not many of her kind were that patient with their pray and that is why many dark Witches and Wizards failed, they never waited. Though she wasn’t going to wait for forever she was just going to wait till he was here. She had placed what she wanted to up and was ready and she knew that in this room no one could apperate or dissaperate from this very room and every exit, once he entered, would be blocked.
As her wand flew out of the hands of what she had created she snickered, or rather had the thing snicker at him. How inconvenient that was for her not to have a wand, she didn’t need to perform magic with it and she wasn’t limited to her wand and neither was her sister but they used it regardless just to hide what they could do. She had the thing smile, as she still in the boy’s form, struggled in the arms of what she had hold her.
“You think me without a wand will help you very much? I don’t need a wand to continue fighting.” She had said through the thing and she continued to ‘cry’ as the boy.
“Не слушайте к ей! Помогите мне!” (Don't listen to her! Help Me!) she said in a boyish Russian voice.
“Jacoby…an innocent life is on the line. Save him and save an innocent life or have him die because you don’t know what’s real or not.” She taunted waiting for him.
OOC: Sorry I haven't posted in this for a while been so busy and plus my car took a crap on me yesterday.

He caught her tilt to the head, and he saw her smile, but he didn't respond to either of them. He didn't quite understand why she had tilted her head, nor why she had smiled, but he wasn't going to ask. He could often read through liars, he could often tell when he was being manipulated, and he knew the different 'types' of criminals and dark wizards front to back - but when it came to actually reading people - and really understanding emotions and reactions - he was about as dumb as they came. "Some things can't be changed, though," he said honestly.
He grinned when she suggested that he speak to her. He supposed it wouldn't hurt. He just often didn't think about it. He spent most of his time in the Auror office... well, being an Auror. He tried as hard as he could to earn the so-called acceptance of other Auror's and Hecate herself, but that didn't mean he wanted to be their friend. Friendship, or even acquaintanceship were hard for Jacoby to achieve. Jonathan had been the first. And... he supposed... essentially, the last. "Maybe I will," he said. "That's the same thing that Jonathan tells me all the time. That that's what's wrong with the world," he said with a snicker.
He nodded in response. "People are unpredictable," he said. And he truly believed that they were. There were very few people in whom he trusted, because he knew too well that when it really came down to it, many people would make decisions based on what would benefit either themselves or those they loved most. Everyone else became nothing but a brief thought. "And it's true," he said about her quote, "Frame of mind has a lot to do with it," he added.
"I will keep that in mind," he said with a chuckle, "I don't think I've ever done anything to push her. At least, I certainly hope that I haven't," he added, knowing well that he could often be brash and impulsive. Both qualities that, theoretically, could get him in trouble. "Anyway. I'm not too worried about having help. After twelve years of this, I'm pretty confident in my abilities," he said quickly, if not a bit arrogantly, "No need to apologize. I learned, in any case. That's what matters most."
He nodded again, "People really are like jigsaw puzzles," he said quietly, not responding to her agreement. "How big or small?" he asked curiously, "Do you mean, like, how much of an inpact the memory does or doesn't have on the individual?" He wondered out loud. It made sense that the more they practiced, the better they became. Wasn't that true of anything? "That's an interesting way to explain it," he said, "Which would be the bad twin?" he asked.
"Exactly," he replied. Wasn't that the case for Lloyd? Of course, Lloyd was far from a child now. But still, when he had been a child he could hardly have been held accountable for the things he'd done. He had been influenced to do them. Jacoby was certain that many children had been, and would be. "Not exactly," he said with a sigh, Lloyd still on his mind, "Some people are so influenced when they are young, that they grow up confused about what is and isn't right. Age becomes irrelevant," It was a viscious cycle, really. "Yeah. Because it's all they know," he said. "With the right help they can," he said suddenly. Well, it was true. With the right help, it was possible.
If she wanted to play hide and seek, that was fine with Jacoby. It certainly wasn't the first time. In fact, many of the dark witches and wizards he'd fought had done exactly the same. They often felt safest when they were concealed. Hidden from the view of Aurors. Some of them were bold enough to fight back, even seemed to enjoy the fight as though it gave them an adrenaline rush like one they'd never experienced. But many of the others preferred to avoid the fight. Preferred to not risk getting caught. And so they'd hide, and he and his fellow Aurors would have to seek. Creeping around against walls, in the shadows. Stalking silently, footsteps never making a sound. As if they were cats stalking their prey. Looking for the scent, seeking the capture.
He heard her words in his head and he scoffed. He didn't quite like her barging in like that, but he pushed that thought deep down and instead focused on his reply, never speaking aloud but assuming she was able to hear it as it passed through his mind. I have already assumed such, footsteps still as silent as they'd been before she'd intruded. He hadn't known that there were more traps, but that didn't change the fact that he'd been aware that this place wasn't familiar territory. That he should be careful. He didn't like that she felt she'd had to warn him. In fact, it offended him slightly. But he wouldn't let that get in the way of the training.
He heard her words again, drifting to his mind. Dark. She wanted to speak dark. He was no stranger to dark. A fact he wouldn't let most people know. A fact he kept buried deep. The thought currently shoved so far down that it was like it wasn't even there. It only passed briefly across his mind. He didn't give her a response that time, instead focusing his thoughts on the current task. He noticed instantly that the exits were blocked. Oh well. That was just something that happened sometimes. He heard the snicker, but didn't give it the satisfaction of a response. His wand remained pointed as he remained where he stood. "If you don't need a wand, show me," he demanded, not wanting to play games any longer.
The crying was annoying him. Aggravating him. He was sure another Auror might have pitied the 'boy', but he felt nothing but frustration. There had been a kid once when he and two other Aurors were aprehending a dark witch, as well. He had been no older than two, and he'd been bloody terrified. He had been crying, too, and it had aggravated Jacoby then, as well. It had got in the way of the job. Had momentarily distracted him. He wasn't sure whether the boy was real or not, but if he wasn't he was sure that the current emotion coursing through him was not the intended one. But still just enough to distract him. The Russian tongue was not understood by Jacoby. He only spoke two languages, English and Spanish. So whatever the boy was saying, he didn't know. "Or you can show yourself," he suggested, not wasting another second as he threw a spell at the bones. Real or not, he hoped the spell would tell.
OOC: It's fine. I understand. ^^ Also, please forgive any misspelled words. It's 7 am, I still haven't slept, and I typed this in Word without spell check lol

"Some things can not no. But others they can be and others refuse to change when they once loved that person but yet...something happens that tears them away but in a way one who broke it off still loves the other and the other blames the person who still loves the other blames them for not loving them enough or not at all or by tricking them." she said gently.
"Thats what happened to Nera at least once Tony came back after a while and someone blamed her for not loving them or blaming her for tricking them that she loved them but in the end she did and still does love them but they won't change. Tony and Nera are together again." she said sadly knowing what Nera was going through with Peter and her face probably gave it away who it was and the fact that she was sad about it.
"At least she cares about every single one of the people who belong to the Auror department, got to take credit for that though she hardly talks about her past and will not unless someone comes in from her past and upsets what is going on." she said with a smile on her face too but she had found her Aunt's history quiet fascinating to her more and more each day and she knew her aunt only allowed her in her mind to keep up and find out everything she needs to know.
"When aren't people unpredictable? Especially the ones you thought you knew but they are no better then the war outside our own doors? It does but everyone has their own battle, their own war, everywhere it just depends if you can see it or not." she said nodding.
"Oh if you have, she would have told you by now and you would have found out instantly if you had or not. She has a temper and when it comes forth it isn't good at all just ask Selene, Airous, Tony or Nera or...Peter Fai." she said the last name so low that it was inaudible.
"Well I guess that helps all in all then but it is always nice to have a back up with a backup plan to boot just in case it gets sticky." she said smiling once more.
"Yes we, who are human beings are jigsaw puzzles. Yep. Yes in some ways if the memory has such a big impact it is harder to take in sometimes or if it is smaller and unimportant then there is no reason to hide it or anything like that. It is easier to explain it that way. The bad one is the one that can not be blocked by Occlumency." she said chuckling.
"I guess not I guess it can happen that they are confused at what to do and who they really are after that but I don't blame them for being so confused. It is all they know and some they rely on it too. Maybe depending on the help." she said gently knowing she had gotten help to change but she now would go back to being dark.
'Well good. Glad you assumed such be remember assuming is not always the best choice.' she whispered back but drew silent again.
She snickered knowing that was a bad choice to taunt her like that and she shoved the boy aside, herself, sparks flying between the fingers and sparks running down the arms of the body she had created to be her. she was sending energy through it to be her and to perform magic she would use and it straining on her to do such a thing but she was enjoying this little game. Games were her thing and it was always something she liked to do to people like him and she snickered.
"The boy is getting on your nerves I can tell. Innocent people were always in the way of what you want to get to and sometimes you have to sacrifice their lives to get what you want. Sometimes....they are useful to me in some ways." she said through the it thinking just like a dark witch or wizard.
"No problem." the 'it' said in her voice and she made it throw balls of energy at him. Spells mainly several curses and only one of the unforgivable curses were flying at him, the Cruciatus curse but the spells were disguised as something else and she was making 'it' use both hands as the spells were flying through the palms of 'it's hands.
"That would be the easy way out, I will never take the easy way out and you should know I will never do that I will face the problem face on and you, are what is the fake problem." she said through the 'it' making it snicker.
As she was making the it fight she made it block the spell but eventually she knew she was going to let one of his spells hit 'it' as a distraction for him to allow her to approach him and use her ability, her magic. As the boy she crawled out of the way and somewhat behind Jacoby 'shivering' like she was afraid of what had had her. She knew that it was something she ha planned all along was to be able to get behind him, though she would not kill him or harm him to badly but give him enough bruises for now in order to prove her point that she knew what she was doing for now.
She made the 'it' snicker again and she made it duplicate itself but they were actual all physical and they would go to dust but the one she made would go back to what it originally was which would take the actual form and have it's own skin back. The person, she knew was her old teacher, the leader of the Gypsy party who was a powerful dark Witch herself and she would become whole again but obviously dead but a new dead corpse.
"You have to choose now." the 'it' said what she made it say.
OOC: No problem Yeah I am really tired too haven't been sleeping well, getting bitched at all the time for not being 'perfect' enough.

"Many things cannot," he said, voice determined as he spoke. He stared in confusion as she spoke about changing, and love, and being torn away. It was clear by the expression on his face that he wasn't sure what she was talking about. He had felt that way about Jon at one point, but that already felt like it was forever ago. Things had already changed since then. Besides, he wasn't that bright to realize that that was what she was talking about. "I'm sorry," he said suddenly and perhaps tactlessly, "I've no idea what you mean," he admitted.
Then she went on to speak about Nera. He was sure he'd heard the name a few times before her, but he couldn't place it. He titled his head in some curiosity, not bothering to hide his confusion. Whatever Eclipse was speaking about had him intrigued. "It all sounds complicated," he said with a bemused grin on his face. Jacoby was a smart man in many respects. Not a genius by any means, but intelligent regardless. Yet, he lacked common sense where it counted. He hadn't put two and two together and likely wouldn't unless someone slapped the facts into his face.
"Caring about us all is definitely a good thing," he said, "We definitely need that. Can't have a head who couldn't give a shit about us," he added, the words slipping past his tongue flippantly as though he didn't even care how unprofessional the sentence may have sounded, "Can't expect her to speak about her past often, though. I never speak of mine. Many of us simply don't like to. Easier that way. No questions asked, none answered," he said with understanding.
"They're always unpredictable," he answered simply, "You never truly know anyone. No matter how much you think you do. But yes, we all have our own battles to fight. Such a shame people don't speak of them more. Then, at least, we wouldn't have to fight them alone," He looked toward her when she assured him that he would have known if he had. He grinned. Well, that was good to hear, at least. He snickered, nodding. "I'll make sure to ask them," he replied, not even noticing that there was an extra, inaudible name on the list. "Backup plans are important," he said simply, "We're all puzzles. Each and every one of us," He chuckled, nodding, "I'd say that's the bad one, too," he replied. "Exactly. Some of them just end up so confused that they don't know the difference between right and wrong," he said.
He heard her whispered words in his head, nearly hissing in response. He hated the feeling. Almost violated, he supposed. To assume makes an ass of you and me, he thought to himself. A quote Jon always repeated to him. He heard the snicker and scowled in response. He couldn't hide the fact that he'd grown a bit irrate, even if he wanted to. Despite knowing that allowing her to see was ignorant. He ignored her words. He didn't care. He didn't care about the boy. The way he didn't care about most innocent people who crossed his path. As arrogant as it sounded, he had a job to do and that was it. Unless the job was protecting the innocent person in question, he or she wasn't his problem.
The balls of energy flew and he was quick to defend himself, throwing up shields and counters as quickly as he could. He was certain that something had hit him, but he tried hard to ignore the sting in his arm as he waved his wand again. He was certain spells were colliding, richochetting off one another. "No one is speaking of easy ways out," he replied. He wasn't entirely sure who he was throwing spells at, but he no longer cared. One of them was her. The 'it' or the boy. And he was not going to take the gamble. He stepped out of the way, so that the boy could not be behind him. If there was one thing Jacoby remembered from Auror training it was to never let anyone behind you. He moved quickly, wand waving between him as he threw spells in every direction. Choose. It wanted him to choose. He knew well that choices were never obvious. So in this situation, the safest bet would be attempting to draw her out. Which was the intention of his spells. I don't have to do anything, he thought, only hoping she heard it.

“But for those that love them, they would still put up the fight to keep what they loved in the person and keep them close regardless, sometimes because of a family involved. I don’t expect you to understand what happened, especially when it involved a father of children who, one resents his father, the other will never know who his father is.” She said calmly upset at the prospect of what had happened with everything she knew Nera was struggling with and she never expected Jacoby to fully understand.
“It’s complicated and something you should tread gently on unless you wish to get harmed. Nera is fully upset and the one reason why she continues to go to her job is because of her son and if she had it her way she would have quiet because of the very reason she resents the very person who had given her, her own son. Nera avoids the office for fear she would see you and she works a lot with troubled kids up at the school for Hecate to avoid things until she is ready.” She said snickering and taunted slightly but she did have love for Nerefon and thought of her like an older sister.
“That is very true and if Hecate didn’t give a shit about the people under her she would have not become head. No, I don’t expect her either though the man who had given Nera her child is the very man that Hecate dated in school. No questions asked no lies given.” She said in agreement to what he said and snickered again.
“Exactly the thoughts that count though and they are the unpredictable though with Voldemort, he was somewhat predictable in the second war though without Dumbledore. We need the fighters anyone who is willing to fight along side us who cares. Good cause you may need it when it comes to it. Many don’t understand puzzles and that is many cases what and where people go wrong. Probably but sometimes they are taught to do what they have to and it becomes part of their lives.” She said remembering fighting in her own war and what she had to do, but of course there was always a choice and that choice was not something she wanted to remember for it was either death or life and she had chosen.
‘That’s why I don’t like assuming, assuming is an assumption and sometimes if not all the time assumptions are wrong. Don’t worry your memories, your dark secrets are not revealed to me dear Jacoby, I have not pried into your mind to find what is your weakness, I have no need to do thus.’ She whispered back across his mind though now she was overloading her own dark past in his mind giving him the exact memories of her bloody beating the chambers of which the gypsies beat and had killed several children in and the screaming of the innocent bystander children who didn’t deserve to die and the blood encrusted walls and floors and the rats that gorged themselves on the bodies of the dead children.
‘Not caring for something that could be your saving grace can get you killed Jacoby but caring to much can also get you killed. If the child was your own would you still not care if the child would get killed or was being harmed? Would you let your child die while you did your job? Is your job more important then the life of your child if you were faced with such a thing? Would you even have remorse for the death of your own child?’ She sneered in his mind.
As she continued to have the ‘it’ fling all her energy and spells at him she watched as he quickly defended himself and throwing up the shields. Eclipse watched as she threw everything that she could through the ‘it’ at him and her face was impassive though she knew what she had to do in order to continue this game of which she was playing. Eventually, with her mind, quicker then some, as she continued to use the ‘it’ she found a lever and had it release ancient spells and ancient curses of which was to protect all those who dared enter that were not allowed in to attack from all sides. She also had to make sure that she would duck from the spells bouncing off of each other so that the form she was currently in wouldn’t be ruined.
“Never said it would be but I am glad we are on the same page Jacoby. I like playing hard.” She commented with a wicked on ‘it’s face.
She smiled when he stepped away from her…’good’ she thought, she didn’t want this right away but she had another plan up her sleeve to play with and one that would be used against him. She concentrated and made duplicates of the boy to add with the it and she knew she wouldn’t be able to continue to hold this magic for long and she snickered and transformed, after casting darkness around the circle and went into her pure white wolf form.
‘Not doing anything can cause your death but fighting can help you survive. I learned that long ago Jacoby fight for you life that’s all you can do.' She sneered and in darkness that covered her which was impenetrable except for the unforgivable curses to attack when needed and she was safe to there for show herself when need be.

He furrowed his brow at her, confusion still all over his face. He certainly hoped it didn't look like he was playing dumb on purpose, because he definitely wasn't. He was honestly baffled about the discussion. Even put off and perhaps, a bit uncomfortable. He shifted his weight slightly, hand fiddling with his wand as he stared at her. "What does this have to do with anything?" he asked, tilting his head, "What, exactly, are you getting at, anyway?" It was hard to hide the slight annoyance in his voice. Not that he cared, anyway. Jacoby may have come across as a robot with his emotions at times, but really, he was far from it.
"Harmed?" he asked with a snicker. He shook his head when she continued to explain, not caring to hear about any of it at the moment, wanting the subject dropped. He just wanted to get through the training, so he could get home. Kick back, kick his shoes off, toy around on the Muggle computer Jon had given him two Christmas' ago, and call it a night. "For fear that she'll see me?" he said, bemusement in his expression again, "I don't even know her," he noted, "Not personally, anyway. She should do what I do. Keep work and life separate. It really does wonders."
He nodded at her words, staring at her for a brief moment before he responded, "That, too," he said about the lies. He sighed as he stared at her, listening as she spoke again. He found himself biting the inside of his cheek. A habit picked up from Jon. One he'd likely never drop. "I believe that every dark witch or wizard is predictable in the end. Once you figure them out, figuring their next move out is easy. It's the good people that are unpredictable. They're the ones that should be feared," a strange thought, perhaps, but he truly believed there was truth behind the words.
He snickered as he heard her words. Well, I didn't know that, he thought, the snark clear in his mind. Well, that was typical of Jacoby. He couldn't help it, he'd likely never be able to. Who ever said I was worried about my memories? Remember what is said about assuming, His weakness. If she pried, she might find it. But he was trying his best to keep it buried deep. He did his best to ignore her memories. He wasn't going to let her distract him. That may have worked earlier, but right now he was as good as on the clock. He couldn't stop them from passing through his mind, but he was doing his best not to let them bother him.
This isn't about my children, he thought. He didn't bother answering her questions. Whether he would or not was none of her business. Likewise, the way he felt about his children was none of her business. He was struck with something. He felt the pain travel through him. He quickly threw up another shield. Before he knew it, more spells were flying. He stuck to a pattern, as well as he could. He'd throw up a shield and fling a spell at either the boy or the thing. And then he'd do it again. He threw an imperius just then, doubting it would hit her, but hoping it would at least hit something. This in another attempt to draw her out. After all, they taught you in auror training that the unforgivables were fine in certain situations. That's not what I meant at all, he hissed in his mind, offended that she'd misconstrued his words, I was simply stating that I do not have to choose. If there's multiple threats, weed them out to find the hardest one to manage first. Once the hardest one is done, the easiest will often leave on their own accord, he thought as he protected himself again, prepared for anything to emerge from the darkness.

“Don’t worry, not everyone understands. They never can fully understand though some know and understand better then others. Oh, it has everything and nothing to do with this. It has everything to do with us standing here now and it has nothing to do with anything at all pertaining to us standing here either. Oh, I am not getting any where, if I wanted to I would have done so way before now rather then continue with this charade of endless chatter.” She said snickering again.
“You don’t know the mind of Nerefon, she is angry, see. Other then that she has no problem with you personally but when it comes to her son’s father then there is a problem. Of course you don’t she doesn’t exactly talk about herself. Oh, you will notice that not everyone can exactly do that since their life is their work and Work is their life. But to her, she took a personal blow when it comes down to it.” She sneered not explaining further on the subject just letting it drop and wanting him to understand on his own when he met Nera.
“Some are some aren’t but see, even those who think they understand a dark witch or wizard they will surprise you in the end and pull things you will never understand. Some can be tricky others not so much.” She commented.
‘A person should for they can be used against them. Yes and that’s why I stated what I did. I don’t want to pry, your not truly my enemy Jacoby, you need to piss me off enough to become one and you have not.’ She whispered with a wicked grin spreading across her face.
‘Of course it isn’t about your children. I am just stating that wouldn’t you do anything in your power to protect them regardless or would you let them die because they are in the way of your job. Of course it is none of my business but…it can be if you want it to be.’ She said wickedly at him her intent was not to harm his family or touch any of them for that matter but in all regards she knew how to play threats if she wanted to.
She continued to throw spell after spell going through the images of the boy and the multiple duplicates of the thing that she had hold the boy which would be intimidating at first. She concentrated and what was worse of all she was going to have to duplicate herself one more time which was going to be pain since her abilities were waning quickly since she was using a lot to do everything she could to fire at Jacoby showing him that she could withstand things many couldn’t or wouldn’t. As a spell was thrown it shattered one of the several things that she duplicated and she grinned with everyone that was still alive and still standing and the wicked grin even shown on her own wolf face.
‘Think that is going to draw me out? Try again Jacoby. Though, I could play this for forever but then again, I sense you don’t want to continue to play this game with me.’ She said a yawning sound came from her.
‘If that is so then I say, by all means continue in this game, I am not bored with it though some things here are even older then Hecate and the previous ten heads before her. I can fire them at will. Though…if you want to stop since I believe that I have proven my point graciously that I can withstand most of this and live, then, whenever you are ready, tell me to stop since I can continue for a few more hours.’ She said in an amused voice.
In the shadows she had created more images in herself as a wolf making it look as if it was a pack of winter wolves from the far north. She had traveled there with the gypsies one year and had taken the hair of a northern, winter wolf and had made the potion for the animagus. It was a few years of hard work but she did pull it off and she snickered, as she snickered the snicker bounced off the walls bouncing back and forth.
She then sent the full pack, the ones that she had created, to lunge out at him while she was among them but she made sure that she was the few of behind him. Though the darkness still clung to all of them though still, they could be made out when they surrounded him and paced around him. They, if anyone watched wolves hunt, they always had a way to take their pray down by having those in front attacking while those in the back made their move.

There was a slight hint of impatience on Jacoby's face as Eclipse continued to speak. It was easy to miss, however, as was typical for Jacoby's range of facial expressions. It seemed to be masked by something closer to indifference. The only hint that such impatience was even there was the brief twitch at the corner of his mouth. "You're talking in circles," he accused. Though, coming from him, such an accusation didn't mean much. After all, he was told quite often that he, too, had a tendency to do that. "Are you trying to avoid answering the question? Or is confusing me merely accidental?" He returned the snicker, perhaps a bit bitterly as he said, "I was unaware that it was a charade."
He shrugged off the mention of Nerefon's anger. Doing so was common for him. So, maybe, he had a temper. An unpredictable and, at times, violent one, even. But holding grudges and staying angry at someone who was as good as a stranger to him wasn't something he cared to do. "That's not my problem," he replied nonchalantly. "I can't argue that work is life for some people. Hell, it is for me, too. But you should still differentiate work from your own personal life. Bringing all that extra baggage into work harms no one but yourself." He nodded at her next statement. Shockingly (especially for him) having nothing further to add to the conversation.
They can be, he thought, resisting the urge to chuckle out loud, but they can also be used to one's advantage, And he felt certain that they could. For, wasn't it always said that people learnt from past experiences? And weren't past experiences stored in the memory? And as far as I'm concerned, until they prove otherwise, everyone is an enemy, Maybe it wasn't a healthy way to view things. Perhaps, Jacoby didn't care. In his line of work, he felt it to be the safest view. The words in a game that he and Jon occasionally played on their Muggle devices came to mind. Trust no one.
He rolled his eyes at her empty threat, giving her no response. One might have expected him to panic, or even grow angry that such a threat on his children's lives had been made. Anyone who would have expected that from Jacoby, however, would have been expecting too much. He didn't even dignify it with a response. As each spell was thrown his way, he responded quickly. Each flick of the wand precise, but at times dangerous. Even Auror's had their limits. She'd proved she could handle it, but he still wasn't sure. It was typical of him to have doubts. Typical of him to want to see more.
Her next reply caused him to roll his eyes. He couldn't stop the gesture once it started. A slight scoff escaped him. Think I give up that easily? He sighed, wand still pointed. She had proven her point, he couldn't argue that. Likewise, she proved that she could handle a lot. But there was still one thing missing. What about mentally? he thought, still clutching the wand, Can you handle it mentally?
He eyed the wolves for a moment. Perhaps not as afraid as he should have been, or would have been had he seen them anywhere else. What, exactly, was she trying to do? Even as they paced, he stood his ground. The way he would have if she were a real dark witch. There was something strange about being an Auror. As long as he had that Auror robe on, he felt bolder. Strip him of it, and he'd be the first to bolt. "Wolves?" he said aloud, "Really?"

Eclipse could see the impatience on his face, though it flickered quickly, and that made her snicker at the thought that she could irritate someone. She hardly ever talked in general but because of this she was enjoying it way to much to really stop though she knew she must continue with what she was doing, get it over with.
“That’s the whole point Jacoby, talking in circles but in general I am giving you clues, indications maybe, if you think hard enough on what I am telling you. I am neither avoiding the question nor trying to confuse you but both may be what you don’t see in the very words I speak. Oh this is, this is for me at least.” She said with a slight hardness and cruelty in her voice.
“You want all honesty Jacoby? Many like honesty and I picture you to be one who craves truth rather then lies, one who wants an honest answer no matter the cost of yourself or others as a matter of fact. She is not one to hold grudges or staying angry, she is just hurt, not for herself but for the child who’s father you may know as Peter Fai who wants nothing to do with the 6th month old. The child did nothing to him but yet he refuses to even accept the child as his, the idiot who leaves a child for his own selfish gain. That’s what is upsetting her the most. Nera knows the difference she had to lead separate lives to prevent everything going wrong. But then again…she will have the heart to talk to you…eventually. Enough about her though.” She said softly though loud enough for him to hear.
‘That depends on the advantage of the person in order to do it correctly. Though everything you do, every step you take is implanted in your memory, your thoughts and cause of that they can be of some use to you. Although the question is…will you use it to your own advantage?’ she asked wickedly and coldly.
‘Oh really? What have I done to fully cause you to be my enemy Jacoby, I have not and because of that I am not your enemy, I would never take your life unless I had no other choice or option. Trusting no one is a dangerous game Jacoby, and trusting everyone is also dangerous…who do you trust Jacoby?’ she asked playing off of him as she continued to let the wolves surround him her being one.
‘You don’t think I would do it do you Jacoby? No life is above anyone else’s or below, thus killing comes easily and having killed enough innocent people, children’s life is nothing new.’ She whispered again.
She continued to watch and throw everything at him though taking it with ease and stride and this was one of the few games she had played before. One nothing was new to her and she was so used to familiar to her that everything this was just a familiar hand cloth. She was getting enjoyment out of this more then normal and this was something that she normally wouldn’t have enjoyment for she had seen several people die in this room.
‘I have proven I am capable in this, why continue trying to see if I can continue when I already had in this for most of my life. I see no benefit to continue.’ She expressed with amusement.
She snickered at him when he asked about how she could hold up mentally and to her that was something of amusement. How could he test her mental state since this was not something that she cared to do but she could find a way.
‘And how will you test me mentally, Jacoby? What could you possibly do to me mentally that hasn’t already been done? I can and try me. Try to attack me mentally try every way that you can to break me in my own mind.’ She said then waited slightly.
When he had said wolves they all attacked all of them at once and as the wolves attacked she turned back to her normal form with darkness surrounding her and the wolves blocking any view at her. That’s when she silently, as a spider would, walked up and pressed her wand to his neck.
“Yes, wolves Jacoby. One thing you have to know about me is that I am an animagus.” She said calmly.

"Well," he said slowly and carefully, words seeming more calculated than they actually wore, impatience clear in his voice now, "I have neither the time nor the patience for it. After all, we are here to work," The words felt strange coming from his lips. He was often the one hearing such a line from his coworkers. Because in awkward situations, he often jumped to terrible puns, or bad jokes. However, after having held a lengthy conversation with Eclipse, this wasn't entirely an awkward situation. Yet. "Well, it was never a charade for me," he said, a bit coldly, "but, rather, making an attempt to know my fellow coworker."
"Of course I want honesty," he replied, voice indicating how obvious it should have been. Despite the big lies he had covered up over the years, when it came to the little things, Jacoby was as honest as they came. There were only three big lies, and he supposed everyone had big lies, for everyone had someone they wanted to protect. "You have me pegged right, then," he said, eyeing her carefully, wondering what, exactly, she was about to say. Then, she said it, and there was no indication of caring on his face. In fact, his expression read more along the lines of that's it? "No matter," he replied, "It's none of my business. Nor do I intend to make it my business. I don't even know what she'd have to talk to me about."
When it comes to memories, he thought to himself, but knowing damn well she could hear, there is no right or wrong. If she couldn't read between those lines, that was not his concern. He could conjure up whatever memory he wanted at that moment, and he wondered idly which one might serve as a distraction. One involving Peter? Yeah, that seemed like it could work. He snickered lightly as the man inadvertently passed through his thoughts.
You don't have to do anything, he replied, eyes scanning the room as he let the thought pass, looking for the next opportunity to strike, In fact, you would have to do something to not be considered an enemy. Something that would prove I could trust you. He heard her question and frowned. He couldn't stop Jonathan's name from passing through his mind, nor did he try. It wasn't like she could use him against him. He wouldn't be dumb enough to fall for that.
"Maybe I don't care if you did," he said aloud, the words sounding strange to him being that most of their conversation had been nearly inaudible. "Life's come and go, Eclipse. Your meaningless threats won't put me on edge. And if you think they will, you are sadly very mistaken," And it was the truth. There were only two lives she could threaten that would anger him, and neither he nor his children were among them. So, maybe his priorities were a bit backwards. But he didn't care at all.
Break you? he thought, Who said anything about breaking you? Mentality is not something I intentionally attempt to break. It is simply tested by whatever situation is at hand. I have no intentions of attacking you mentally. He held his wand up quickly, shielding himself the way he'd been trained to years ago. When he felt the wand at his neck, he spun quickly, pointing his own wand at her throat. Standing so that either of them had a wand at their throats now. "One thing you should know about me, Eclipse, is that I'm not afraid of wolves. Nor do I back down that easily."

Eclipse smiled though she was strained He was going to lose her temper soon and her losing her temper was not a good thing when it came down to it. She chuckled slightly hearing the impatience in his voice though she was done, done with the toying, he was going to get what he wanted and to be well informed for what she could do. Her face grew darker and more of the evil beauty that always appeared for those who had grown evil.
“Of course. I neither have the patience to continue with this only to work and prove what I am. It’s up to you and for you to decide to do with it. I have no problem with work, I have understood the meaning for far to long.” She said with a sneer on her face.
She refocused herself and grew way to quiet. She normally wasn’t the quiet one but only grew quiet when things got serious and right then it became serious. She wanted to prove she was no child and then she wanted to also prove her mental stability and her way of handling things. She grinned slightly but more to herself then anything else and she was going to do it the way the game was meant to be.
“Well I am glad it isn’t but getting to know me you must come to an understanding of what and who I am. Maybe some day you can fully understand who I am, though not now.” She said keeping her eyes on him not letting him think she wasn’t paying attention.
“I am glad you want honesty. People always want that and so do I, though for you to understand me, I may not always tell you the full truth but enough of it to protect you. You just have to trust that and know I will, in due time, tell you everything. Well good, she will in due time but then again give the time to her and eventually she will learn to want to become friends with you.” She said and knew Nera tried to get to know and tried to become friends with people or at least be honest with them and try to have them understand.
Eclipse hated lies, big lies and sometimes the people who had lied and tried to harm her through the lies, they ended up paying for those with their own life. It was not something she was proud of but it came in handy and she was good at what she was and what she had done, she covered up her mess and made sure things were spotless. She had been trained that way and she covered up everything. She was listening though not putting in her to sense in but her facial expressions told all in what she would want to say.
‘When it comes to that it all depends on the person what is right or wrong. I hope that in all regards you can prove that.’ She said back and got a thoughtful expression on her face and she thought back in her memories and knew that he was right even in the lines between.
‘Distracting me with that man will not work Jacoby, I don’t care what the two of you do in your spare time, that is yours and I don’t really care about a flying rat’s behind what you do. This is of course a job and I will not get distracted that easily.’ She said sternly.
She listened to him and her eyes burned a bright and fire like emerald that seemed to signal that she would be pissed but it was all in all perfectly fine. She was summoning up everything she could throw for the final but then again….hurting him would be a bad thing he would be missed. She caught another name and smiled.
‘I know I don’t have to do anything but I don’t want to be your enemy but if you want, what do you want to be proven to be trust. For me, it’s an oath that is very binding or you mean something to my family or me. I wouldn’t use him against you, I am not dumb enough but if I truly wanted to harm you or was evil I would use it.’ She snickered at him.
“Why is that? Yes life comes and goes, I have seen it snuffed I have killed many from force. Oh? Only on two peoples life I am guessing that matter to you but I wouldn’t do that. My threats are meaningless but remember, I am acting on how I was and what you expect from me. Children are our futures and yet you seem not to care about your own kids. Why?” she asked curiously.
‘Everything can break a person, it’s up to the person if they allow it to break them. I guess to me, it means breaking me. To me everything, physically and mentally is the same thing. Well how on earth are you going to know then.’ She said smirking.
She smiled gently as she watched him, she had always like watching how others moved, dealt with things and found a way to defeat their enemies, she was always like that. Her smile remained when he spun around and pointed his own wand at her throat and she had an amused look on her face.
“Neither am I and good to know, but they are my own distraction to you. My sister is just like me though black as night in her animagus form. I don’t back down easily, I would rather die in battle then running away from it and blamed for being a deserter.” She said her face stern and hard.
