Peter was wasted. Like normal. He had been kicked out of the pub and now was stumbling, bottle in hand into the muggle park. It was well past midnight so most of the muggles where gone. He stumbled over himself cursing.
What had been the cause of his drinking tonight? It had something to do with his baby Sky, his son Airous, his dead wife and the girl he can't have Nera. He was so stressed that he drank his sorrows down the drain. And now here he was on barely being able to walk in a muggle park. But Peter didn't care. Not did he care when the auror appeared.

Jacoby let out a sigh. This wasn't why he signed up to be an Auror. He signed up to protect his world from Dark Wizards, hadn't he? Well, he wasn't that great at doing that. If he was, Marcus would be in Azkaban. As would a few others. But Jacoby had his reasons for that. At least, that's what helped him sleep at night. And that aside, he was decent at what he did. Plenty of bad people were in Azkaban because of him. Fighting them may have been hard. Dangerous, even. But it was what he liked to do. He didn't like being assigned minimal tasks that could easily be handled by someone below him. But he couldn't complain, either, because he happened to like his job.
He took one last drag off the cigarette that hung from his lips before grinding it out on the ground beneath him. Wand held loosely in one hand, his eyes drifted to the Wizard. Apparently, he'd gotten in a fight at a pub. Jacoby didn't know the details, nor did he care, but he imagined it had gotten pretty out of hand for him to be sent. He definitely looked quite drunk. Even though he was in the Muggle world, Jacoby clutched his wand with confidence since a simple Lumos spell was on it at that moment. To any passerby, it would look like nothing more than a flashlight. He stepped up to the Wizard, wand pointed at his face as he said, "How much have you had to drink?" ready to defend himself should the need arise. The man was drunk, and Jacoby was merely doing his job. If he had to spend a night or two in custody because of the fight... well, he wouldn't be the first. He eyed the man curiously, wand still pointed as he did so.

Peter had been mumbling jargon to himself as he stumbled across the lawn of the park. Suddenly a light had been shined into his face. He nearly fell over from shock. "get that damned thing out of my face!" he spat angrily. "I haven't drank a lot." he lied drunkenly. He looked the auror up and down. A young one he noted. Not the old guys that where usually sent after him. "why did they send you?" he asked "your not the usual." he hicupped out.
He whiped his mouth with the back of his hand and took a swig of the the bottle he was holding. "want some?" he asked holding it up to Jacoby's lips. "would help you relax." he said with a smirk. After a few moments of waiting Peter became impatient and continued to stumble past Jacoby.

Jacoby noticed how the man nearly fell over once the light hit his face. It didn't surprise him much at all. In fact, being friends with Jon he knew that such a reaction was quite common - especially when the person actually was drunk. He didn't respond at all when Peter told him to get the light from the spell out of his face. "You look and smell like you've drank a lot to me," Jacoby countered, still holding the wand as he spoke.
His question gave Jacoby paused. Why had they sent him? He was momentarily dumbfounded, trying to find the answer. He wasn't the type of Wizard they'd normally send for such a task. A certain amount of paranoia sunk in as he thought about that. But he tried as hard as he could to push it to the back of his mind. "Your guess is as good as mine," he said, watching as the other took a drink from the bottle. Jacoby flinched away slightly when he held the bottle to his lips, dropping his wand to his side, eyes never leaving the man. He let out a sigh as Peter began to stumble past him, "Look, I'm only doing my job. I can do it the easy way, or the hard way," he said, putting his hand in front of Peter to stop his stumbling. Peter probably had a point about relaxing, but Jacoby was far from willing to point that out. It was hard to relax when he was being given jobs like this.

"well I only had one drink." he said to Jacoby, trying to throw the kid off. "are you sure that you arent drunk sir." he said slurring his speech. He tried to push the light from the spell away from his face but failed by falling into Jacoby. Pressing both hands to Jacoby's chest, he pushed off of him to get back onto his feet before stumbling to the side.
He watched Jacoby put the wand to his side. Then a hand reached out that stopped Peter's stumbling. He stared at the hand for a moment "why didn't you do that before, mate. Helps the world stop moving. I think we fixed the earths rotation." he said giving Jacoby some drunken philosophy. He then looked up at Jacoby as he spoke. "I always take the hard way." he said with a defiant smirk.
Next Peter grabbed onto Jacoby's shirt. "I've only been in Azakaban once fore fighting in a pub." he said his face close to Jacoby's as the smell of booze wafted off of his tongue. "you know why that is?" he asked blinking and then smirked "that head of yours, Hecate. She loooooooves me." he said and started to burst out laughing as he swayed back and forth on his feet.

"One drink?" he asked doubtfully. Often, after ten or twenty drinks, Jonathan said he'd only had one drink, too. It was a common lie, and it didn't matter which drunk was speaking it, it was always easy to see right through. Jacoby let out a sigh at Peter's question. He wondered idly if the other was even aware of what he was saying. He often wondered if people were when they were drunk. Funny how no matter how hard he tried to remember being drunk himself, he could not. "I'm sure," he told him, voice not showing any indication of growing irate, though he was sure most Aurors would have been already.
Peter fell against Jacoby, knocking Jacoby back a step. He managed to keep his balance, however, hands momentarily catching Peter in his fall. He felt Peter's hands on his chest and tensed up slightly, certain that it was noticeable. It wasn't long, though, before Peter stood back up and started to stumble away, stopped by Jacoby's hand. Jacoby kept his hand there, not even sure why himself, and Peter's drunken thoughts hit his ears. He tried not to. Normally, he could keep a straight face when performing his job. Hell, normally he had a straight face even when others were crying, or laughing, or yelling. But he couldn't help it. His lips twitched into a smirk and he let out a chuckle. Unprofessional as it may have been, he genuinely couldn't stop it from happening.
His next words made the corner of Jacoby's mouth twitch ever so slightly. He wasn't sure what to make of them, nor how to reply, but awkwardly said, "Then I guess the hard way it will be," but didn't make a move to stun the other or bring him down in any kind of way. Pretty rookie mistake. Within seconds, Peter had his hand on Jacoby's shirt. Any distance that had been between them was gone. He could smell the booze, and Peter reeked of it. It was something Jacoby was accustomed to, however, so he didn't even flinch away at the smell. "Well, I'm not Hecate," he replied. But by now, he was starting to wonder if Peter realized it was likely an empty threat.

Peter saw Jacoby tense up. He couldn't figure out why he had done it. He swung his right hand holding the bottle up to Jacoby's face in a attempt to put the bottle to his lips. Though he had managed to put it to his nose instead. "you look tense. Drink and you'll be as relaxed as me." he said with a smirk almost tempted to pour the bottle for him but wasn't sure where his lips where. Peter heard Jacoby chuckle and smiled. A old friend of his had once said if you could make a auror laugh you had a chance of stumbling home.
"no." Peter said simply as realization crossed his face. He then did something that he would have only done when sober. He leant into Jacoby in a attempt to kiss him. Peter couldn't help how he felt when drunk. At that moment all he knew was Jacoby wasn't that bad looking. He was neither Hecate nor Nerafon and both those relationships had gone sour for the most part. Best thing to do was start fresh with someone new.

Jacoby himself wasn't sure why he had tensed. Something about the closeness had caused it, he supposed. Though, he couldn't imagine why. Before he could think about it any further, Peter swung the bottle toward him again, bringing the top closer to his nose than his lips. He brought his head back and away from it, clearly not willing to give into the peer pressure. Drinking wasn't a habit Jacoby partook in often. Occasionally, he'd give in, but such moments were few and far between. "I think I'll pass," he said, eyes watching the other carefully. Jacoby didn't take his gaze off of him, strange curiosity in the other peaked. Truth was, at that point, he had no intentions of taking the other to Azkaban. He couldn't be sure of his reasons, and wasn't going to mull over them to figure it out.
Jacoby eyed him as a look of realization seemed to pass his face. He wasn't sure what that meant, but he didn't have any time to ask. Jacoby didn't have much time to react, either. The kiss landed, stunning him for a moment. The familiar taste of alcohol hit his lips. Always from someone else's, never his own. Professionally, he should have pulled away. He should have used his wand to stupefy the other and take him in after using a memory charm on any Muggle that may have been nearby. That would have been the professional thing to do. But that wasn't what Jacoby did at all. In fact, he let the kiss happen. He might have even 'unwittingly' returned it. A thought passed his mind briefly. Quick and gone before he could consider it (you are bad at what you do). But he didn't worry about it much. After all, aurors were only human, too.

Peter grabbed a hand full of Jacobys shirt as he pressed his lips into the others. He couldn't help feel as if he was falling suddenly. Maybe it was the booze but he was waiting for the ground to hit him. But it never did. He pulled away after a few moments an stared at Jacoby, almost in half shock that he had kissed the other. "Well......I guess we should go on a first date soon. Maybe I'll be sober." He said the last part a joke.
Peter leant against Jacoby, using his body to keep himself up. "What happens now auror?" He asked looking up at him with a devilish look. "My place? I can cook us something to eat. Light some candles. What do you say?" He asked as he started to stumble away, not waiting for Jacoby to responded but assuming that the other was following him.

He could feel Peter's hand on his shirt as they kissed. He couldn't be sure why he'd felt the need to grab for it, but he wasn't the type of person who would ask. He found his eyes on Peter again when Peter pulled away from the kiss. His words caught Jacoby off guard. He wasn't sure if it was the fact that Peter was drunk (possibly completely smashed) as he was speaking them, or the fact that even though he'd been married and had had a few... flings with Jonathan, he'd never actually been on a date. Always one to just skip that part.
"Are you sure you're in a position to make such a proposition?" Jacoby teased lightly as Peter leant against him. He didn't move to push the other away, and in fact pushed slightly against him to help him maintain balance. Peter spoke again, the words stunning Jacoby for a moment. Before he could answer, Peter was already stumbling away. Well, he certainly wasn't going to bring him in in any case. He sighed before he started after him. "I say yeah," he replied, catching up quickly. At the very least, he can use the I had to make sure he got home safe card. He snickered as he thought up the excuse. He'd be off the clock after Peter, anyway. Peter had been his last job of the day.

Peter smirked at Jacobys words. "Yes...why do you not think I can not be?" He asked making himself slightly confused on how the order of his words came out. Peter didn't know how to fix it in his state of mine which probably showed Jacoby's point more. He shrugged the thought away and smirked back. "Besides. I like dates." He said taking another swig from the bottle in his hand as if he just now realized it was there.
Peter stumbled to the sidewalk and looked around. "Oh forgot, muggle land." He mumbled to himself. He looked at Jacoby not sure how to return him. "Looks like your the driver officer. I'm tucked up." He said giving Jacoby a set of car keys. Though Peter didn't even own a car nor could he drive one. He also didn't come by car. Peter stared at the keys wondering who's they where. He wasn't quite sure. "I bet someone is sad for missing those." He said shrugging again and taking another swig from the bottle.

"The fact that I had to be called out here may be my first clue," he said, words spoken more in a teasing manner a condescending one, "The bottle you currently hold is probably the second," he added, gesturing to the bottle that was still in Peter's hand. He chuckled at the way Peter had spoken his words. Wondering if Peter was even aware of what he had said. His next words made Jacoby smirk. He watched as Peter took a swig from the bottle that he held. Never the drinker, but always the one to end up with them.
Jacoby's brow furrowed when the keys were handed to him. The mere idea of him driving was dangerous, whether Peter really had a car or not. And being that he assumed they were both Wizards, he supposed that Peter didn't. Which confused him even more. The keys fell to his hand and all he could do was stare at them, dumbfounded. "Someone probably is," Jacoby said, unsure of whether he should laugh or resume his confusion. "Why don't we find a safe place?" he asked, voice a bit quiet as he spoke the next words even though they seemed to be alone in the park now, "Apparition is quicker and between you and me, after twelve years of being an Auror... well, if we are seen, a memory charm is easy and quick," he said, snapping his fingers to indicate just how quick it was. He supposed he'd have to be the one to apparate. He doubted Peter was in any condition to get them somewhere... well, in one piece.

Peter blinked a few times before blurting out "I swear officer....I...am not drunk." He said as he almost fell from lack of balance. He watched Jacoby chuckle at him. "What's so funny?" He asked as swayed to catch himself from falling over. The more sips he took out of the bottle the more he seemed to not be able to stand.
Peter watch as Jacoby seemed to be confused about the keys. "Don't worry...there not mine...I found them. We should find where the car is." He said looking around at the empty street. There wasn't a muggle car surrounding the park. Which made Peter scratch at his head. He looked back at the keys and a flash of realization crossed his face. "Hey! How did you get those? I've been looking for them" he said taking the keys back. He leant on Jacoby and smiled "your place then?" He asked with a devilish grin.

Jacoby was taken aback by his random words, insisting that he wasn't drunk when Jacoby knew damn well that he was. He'd known when he had initially approached him. Even if he'd just rolled his eyes and apparated away without speaking to Peter, he would have known he was drunk. He had spent enough time around Jonathan in the past to see the signs. That was without mentioning the smell of alcohol that currently lingered between them. To Jacoby, the smell alone was intoxicating in its own way. "You don't have to lie to me," Jacoby said, "I'm not the kind of Auror who will take you in just for a... little drinking," he said, emphasis on the little for comedic effect as he was well aware it was a lot more than a little.
He shook his head at Peter's question, chuckling again and not giving it an answer. The fact that the keys weren't Peter's was only a bit unsettling. Jacoby supposed there was a Muggle out there somewhere who couldn't find his or her keys. But that wasn't the unsettling part. He was far from the type who would worry about another person in such a fashion. They should have had a better hold on their keys. The unsettling part was knowing that if he hadn't shown up, Peter may have found the car in which the keys belonged to. "We can do that later," he replied, "A quick charm will help," There were no cars on the street they stood on. There was no telling where Peter had found the keys. He hadn't held them for long before Peter took them back, obviously forgetting that they weren't his and that he'd handed them to Jacoby only seconds before. He allowed Peter to lean against him, a rarity in itself since Jacoby very rarely liked human contact. There were very few exceptions. "That would be our safest bet," he said. Not like anyone would be home there, anyway. He reached for Peter's arm and then started for a secluded part of the park. The one he often used for apparition. "I'd like to make it to tomorrow in one piece," he teased.

"Thank you." Peter said giving a half drunkin bow. "I don't understand why everyone says I have a problem. A few drinks a day is good for you.....makes you....tough." He said almost losing his train of thought half way threw the sentence. "I just...self medicate and self enjoy my happiness." He said pleased with himself about how he explained it all. It made sense to him and that was all that mattered.
Peter jingled the keys loudly. "If I could find the car we would have no problem getting home." He then had a idea and turned to Jacoby "officer! I think someone stole my car! Go get them!" He said dead serious as his eyes became wide. Though the thoughts quickly passed as Jacoby spoke. "I guess." He commented on the idea of being in one piece tomorrow.
