He had a butterbeer between the palms of his hands. It was about the only thing he'd drink when inside a pub, barring water. His eyes scanned the faces of everyone in the proximity, studying them for brief moments as he regarded each one. Sheldon found himself increasingly interested in the lives of others. Or, rather, the minds of others. Far from capable of knowing what anyone but himself was thinking, that didn't stop him from wondering. He would study their subtle movements, the facial expressions they may not have even been aware they were making, the tapping of the toe of their right boot against the floor of the pub... All those minor details were small clues to their psyche. Tiny hints to what they were feeling.
The wizard who had been tapping his foot against the floor caught Sheldon staring, both sets of brown eyes meeting for a moment before Sheldon blushed a soft shade of red and looked away quickly, feigning interest in his glass of butterbeer. He took a sip of the drink, knowing he wouldn't have much time to waste. Not only were the students already piling into Hogsmeade for their current trip, but he'd have to be back at work soon. Not that he particularly minded. He loved his job, after all. Nevertheless, he was determined to enjoy his couple hours away from work. Even if he was currently by himself.

Airous had the day off. Thank god because every thing seemed to be a pile of stress that he did not want to handle. He walked into the small pub and sat down next to Sheldon. He ordered a butter beer and waited patiently for it. When it arrived he let the sweetness pour threw him and let his worries disappear as he started to stare off into space.
Airous felt two eyes on him minutes later. He turned and looked at Sheldon for a moment. "Do I know you from somewhere?" He asked. Though Airous didn't know who Sheldon was, he thought that maybe he had seen him around in the minstry.

He had noticed another person sit next to him, ordering a butterbeer of their own. He took another sip of his, glancing at the new arrival. He was sure he recognized him from the Auror department. After all, Sheldon often paid attention to new Aurors, whether he had spoken to them or not. He found it helped to know who he might work with one day. And even who he might end up having to help (or who might have to one day help him).
The other spoke, causing Sheldon to look at him again. He gave a nod and replied, "I think I've seen you in the Ministry. You're one of the new Aurors, right?" After taking another sip of Butterbeer, he added, "I'm Sheldon. I'm an auror. Obviously," he joked lightly.

Airous nodded. He then laughed lightly at Sheldon's joke. "I though you where a first year at Hogwarts." He said joking with Sheldon. "I've seen you talk to Jacoby a few times. But we've never formally meet till now." Airous held out his hand before saying. "I'm Airous."
"So this is where you spend your time off?" He asked as he sipped at the butterbeer. "Kinda lonely isn't it?" He said sadly as he stared out into space for a moment. He couldn't help but wonder if Jacoby ever took a break from work. The answer was probably not. Jacoby was a workaholic.

Sheldon laughed in response to Airous before joking in return, "So, you think I can pass for a first year? That's good news to me. Didn't realize I looked so young," He nodded in reply to Airous' next words, smile still intact but a tad more serious when he spoke again, "Yeah. I'm about the only Auror that can tolerate him," he joked lightly, "He helped train me. Of course, when I was in training, things were a bit different. So, he was only one of many that did," He accepted Airous' handshake before adding, "Nice to meet ya, Airous. To finally meet you, I should say."
He sipped at his own butterbeer, chuckling at Airous' question. "Sometimes," he admitted, "But not all the time. This is just where I spend my time when I'm alone. So, I suppose it is a bit lonely. And yourself? You're here, too, after all."

Airous laughed with Sheldon, "I don't know you look younger than a first year, they might think your a professors kid." He said still joking with the other of course. "Oh he trained you. He's training me. I don't see why everyone else thinks he's irritating. He defenrly knows what he's doing." He said with a small shrug. "Some people think he's to harsh. I guess I agree that sometimes he's too inpatient but he isn't wrong."
"My wife works at the school." He said with a smile. "I try to see her around lunch or dinner before I have to head to work," he explained. "Better than being her alone. Though sometimes we all need a little space."
