PERSONALITY and appearance,
Personality;
Jonathan is very different than his brothers not only in appearance, but in personality. He has always been very social, and is definitely best described as an extrovert. Jonathan loves having as many people around as possible, and thrives off socialization. Caring, he is described by many as being a "bleeding heart". This is not a title that he minds, for he has never understood why it would be an insult. He is a highly sensitive person, and tends to "feed" off the moods of those around him. If someone he loves is happy, so is he. If they are depressed, he is likely to be, as well. Jonathan has all the trademark traits of a Hufflepuff, and then some. While he was shocked at being sorted into the house, he would come to terms with it later in his life because he would grow to realize it truly was fit for him. Patient like most 'Puffs, it takes a lot to irritate Jonathan or get on his bad side. Hardworking when not drunk, he takes pride in the work he does and is not "afraid of toil". Loyal, he is never the first to break off a friendship. He keeps his heart invested in all his friends, even when it's to his detriment. Perhaps the only exception to his loyalty is his partners. Afraid of commitment because of his rocky upbringing, he has been known to cheat in an attempt to ruin things himself before he can be hurt. Lastly, like most Hufflepuffs, he values fairness over justice.
Appearance;
In appearance, he is very different from his brothers. Having taken more after his biological father; a Muggle; Jonathan has always had dirty blond hair, and bright blue eyes. He has always been the shorter in the family, standing at only 5'2" even at his adult height. Not because of dwarfism or a similar condition, but simply because of genetics (his mother was 5'1", his biological father only 5'4"). Scruffy in appearance, he seldom ever shaves, and when he does he almost looks like another person. He tends to prefer Muggle clothes over robes, and can be seen in them even during Wizard events.

HISTORY,
The middle child of three boys, Jonathan was born out of an affair between his mother and a Muggle musician. The two were in love, and had a two year long affair during which she discovered she was pregnant with his child. Being that she and the Doom father were separated at the time, there was never any doubt between them about Jonathan's paternity. Nevertheless, they would go on to hide it from him and the public for many years. When given a choice between families, she chose to remain with her husband. Jonathan's father was told to never come into his son's life, and threatened away.
Because of the secret, Jonathan had no idea (and still doesn't) that he is a half-blood and not pure. He had always felt different from his siblings, but assumed that he took more after their mother than their father. Their mother - being blonde with blue eyes, too - looked very similar to him. But when she saw Jonathan, there was no denying who his father was. Because of this, she doted on him. Jonathan was her favorite, and she didn't keep it hidden well. Still, the Doom's were prone to benign neglect. While she and Jonathan had many private talks, she still left him to essentially raise himself.
Jonathan had one older brother, Marcus, and a younger brother, Lloyd. Lloyd was, perhaps, the least favored among the Doom's. Jonathan took to him for this reason, taking pity on him. He just wanted his youngest brother to feel cared about. However, Lloyd took more to Marcus. The eldest was abusive toward both brothers, and after many years Jonathan found ways to escape his abuse. Including escaping to the Muggle world.
Jonathan was sorted into Hufflepuff when he started Hogwarts. He was the first person to carry the Doom name that wasn't sorted into Slytherin. His mother did not care - having been a Ravenclaw herself - but his father saw it as personal shame to their family.
When Jonathan finished Hogwarts, he married his long time Muggle girlfriend, Alissa. The two had two children - Samantha and Jonathan Jr - before divorcing. Jonathan had a third child from an affair, as well - Michelle - but she passed away tragically. Samantha is the only one currently in Hogwarts, having been sorted into Ravenclaw.
Jonathan struggles with bipolar disorder and alcoholism, making most of his relationships rocky as it is. Still, he is ever the optimist despite realizing the contradiction. He does believe things will get better, and tries to look on the bright side.
