0IV. hair Jonathan has naturally blonde hair, a trait that he inherited from his mother and has always made him stand out when placed next to his brothers. He usually wears his hair long and only cuts it (barely) when his wife nags him enough to convince him to do so (just so she'll shut up). Many people recognize him by his hair, and so he argues that it's an integral part of who he is.
00V. eyes Jonathan has bright blue eyes, which seems to be another trait he's inherited from his mother. Of course, not being very knowledgeable about genetics he has never found it odd at all. His eyes often stand out more when it direct sunlight.

VII. dressing style Jon has a strange way of dressing, often just throwing on the first thing he can find when he's not in his wizard robes. If it weren't for his wife (who will often pick his outfits out for him - with much protest from his end), he'd likely wear at least one outfit twice in the same week. He has never particularly cared about presentations, likely as a result of "rebelling" against his family throughout his teenage years (when he'd intentionally dress in a "grunge" like fashion just to irritate them).

Jonathan has many secrets, being a very secretive man. For one, he would never tell just anyone that he's cheated on his wife a few times (once or twice with his best friend). Perhaps, the one secret he keeps hidden even better than that, is his history of self harm.

Jonathan is a very hard to read wizard. Some would say that he is an open book, but those that know him best would know that they are wrong. Jonathan is exceptionally skilled at pretending and can force a smile even when he's going through the worst days of his life. No matter what is going on when he's by himself, Jonathan is a very friendly person and will always find the time to help out a wizard, a witch, or even a muggle or magical creature in need. He's very generous and has always been the type of man who would give up his last piece of gold if he felt someone else needed it more. "You can't save the world" is a phrase he's heard very often, though he firmly believes that it is possible to change the world for one person. He's very loyal and will stick with a friend through thick and thin (often a weakness as well as a strength). He's hardworking, caring, and everything else Hufflepuffs are known for.
He's an optimist in many respects, believing that there is good in most people and that reaching out to someone can and does make their day that much better. However, Jon has a darker side to him that the general public (especially the school) does not get to see. When not at Hogwarts, Jonathan is a heavy smoking, bar hopping, pessimist. Though he's an optimist about the state of the world and other people's lives, he can never see the glass half full for his own. Instead, when he evaluates his own life, he's convinced that the glass has several leaks. He fights many battles with himself, some of which he'd never share with anyone else. He's been known to be prone to gambling sprees, wasting money on frivolous things, and disappearing for extended periods of time.

0VI. overall history Jonathan was born to Elizabeth Doom two days before Valentines. She would often tell him in secrecy that he was her Valentines gift. Of course, he never understood exactly what that meant as he never found out that Marcus (Sr) was not his real father. His mother had had an affair with a Muggle man she had met when she and her husband were taking a "break". She had fallen in love with the American guitar player and had spent several nights alongside him. It wasn't until she discovered that she was pregnant that she called the relationship off. Afraid of what would happen if the public discovered that she'd fallen for a Muggle man, she returned to her husband and decided to cover up the lie. Jonathan was soon born, carrying no Doom blood but having the Doom name placed upon his head regardless. So, he was born into a wealthy family who mass produced several wizarding items for the average wizard or witches enjoyment.
Jonathan had two brothers of which he shared his home; Lloyd, the younger of the three, and Marcus, the eldest of the three. Jon himself was a middle child. Marcus wasn't quite right, a fact that Jon had known from a very young age. There was something strange about the things Marcus had been fascinated in. Many people found it quite peculiar how all his small pets would suddenly just disappear. Jonathan chose to keep as far from his older brother as possible, though the attempt was futile. Marcus would often lock him in the basement for days knowing that their parents would not notice, for their parents were rarely home. As Marcus grew, so did his methods of torture. Jonathan never complained, however, because he knew that Lloyd often got it worse than he did. He never understood the relationship he witnessed between his two brothers and he has always been sure that he never would. Though Marcus seemed not to care for Lloyd at all, Jonathan can recall passing by the grand piano room one day when Lloyd was but four years old and hearing Marcus play the toddler the most beautiful and simplistic piece of music he had ever heard - until Lloyd drifted into sleep. At the same time, he knows that Marcus gave Lloyd the scar in which he wears on his face.
Jonathan started Hogwarts at the age of eleven, like most young witches and wizards. Unlike most of his family (or rather, all until that point), Jon was not sorted into Slytherin. Coming from a long line of Slytherins, this came as a disappointment to him. Instead, he was sorted into Hufflepuff. He was a bit upset and worried, but upon the third week, he had already realized that the hat had not made a mistake. Nevertheless, his family began to grow even more distant from him. During his second year of Hogwarts, he made friends with a Ravenclaw "half blood" (who is actually a pure blood, but not as far as Jonathan knows) named Jacoby. Though Jacoby was said by all the other students to be a cold heart'd boy, he warmed up to Jonathan quickly and the two because best friends almost overnight. They remained best friends throughout Hogwarts, even when Jonathan met Alissa during a trip to the Muggle world at fourteen and eventually, fell in love with her. (She, also, converted him to the Muggle religion called Christianity) Though, he could not deny he had feelings for Jacoby, as well (that confused him more than just a bit).
Marcus made Jonathan's first few years of Hogwarts miserable. The other was not above bullying him and was skilled at manipulating others into believing the lies he fed them. Jonathan kept very close to the few friends he had and traveled in packs so that he could avoid Marcus and his friends. He was thrilled when Marcus graduated and went on with his life. Lloyd started Hogwarts soon after and like his eldest brother, was placed into Slytherin. He ignored Jonathan throughout his Hogwarts years. Jonathan spent six months in St Mungo's after using a curse on himself that went terribly wrong. It is a secret that the Doom family kept hidden, like most secrets, for the Doom family is full of secrets. Such as the fact that Lloyd had been "missing" at one point and when the captors demanded a ransom, his father refused to pay. It was, in the end, Marcus who paid the large sump. All those secrets, kept locked away.
For this reason, Jon was not too perturbed when his family discovered his muggle girlfriend. Nor did he particularly care when they kicked him out. He and Alissa married soon thereafter and have been married since. They had their first daughter when they were nineteen, Samantha. When he was twenty, Jonathan had an affair with another Muggle named Helen. It is a secret that he has successfully kept from most of the public, but that those who know him best already know. It was only easy to hide it from the magical world as Alissa went unseen to them mostly as it was. Helen gave birth to Michelle when Jonathan was 21 (and she, 19) and Alissa and Jon adopted her, deciding that they would work on their marriage in the meantime. Their marriage felt like it was failing and he began to wonder if everyone (including his best friend) was right when they said they were marrying too young. For a while, neither of them showed much interest in the other. However, they found a way to hang onto that one shred of hope - and eventually, managed to save their marriage. To Jon's knowledge, anyway. Alissa soon gave birth to Jon Jr. Jonathan often has doubts about his son, but rarely ever thinks about them. Denial was always more comfortable.
Tragically, Michelle passed away in a car accident at three. Jonathan doesn't talk about the loss much, no matter how much others press him to. His marriage hit another rough spot during the grieving. During that period, he and Jacoby grew steadily closer. It wasn't until Jonathan was 28 that he managed to save his marriage a second time. He truly does love his wife, and as far as the public knows, they are happy and a perfect couple. Of course, there's often more to a situation than meets the eye.
