Tyler sat on the common room floor, cross legged as he flipped through the pages of the book in front of him. He had no idea what he was looking at, just that he needed to write a page about it for History of Magic before the day was done. TJ hated writing. He wasn't very good at it. He tried as hard as he could to do the work, and being a Hufflepuff it was not like he was afraid of the hard work, he simply wasn't that great at studying. His mind often began to wander, his thoughts grew cluttered, and eventually he'd be thinking of kittens, black knights, and three headed dragons when he was supposed to be thinking about eighteenth century magic.
TJ let out a sigh, mind wondering what his brothers were up to at that very moment. And his parents, too, for that matter. He wondered if, perhaps, he should send a letter home. He had his old barn owl hidden in the dorm room at that moment, it would be easy to simply shove the homework aside and pull out a new parchment for letter writing. However, the sound of a page turning from behind him snapped him back to reality. He had to get his homework done. He was in his sixth year, just months away from being a seventh year. If he wanted to get a decent job after Hogwarts, he needed at least decent grades before graduating. He could do as well as he wanted in the hands on classes... without the written work his grades would be all A's and P's. A's were okay. They could get him at least a decent job. But he dreaded those P's. So, he turned the page in his book and continued trying to read, while many of his housemates studied or chatted amongst themselves.
OOC: Everyone is welcome to join. Figured the common room needed a nice little thread going for all the 'Puffs to meet each other. There aren't many yet, but I'm sure there will be soon. ^^
