GENERAL:
Raven is of average height, standing at five feet eight inches. He is, also, of average frame and weighs 150lbs. He is not exceptionally fit, but is fit enough to be considered healthy. His hair is naturally a soft brown, but he keeps it dyed black. Very few people have seen what he looks like with brown hair - barring those who knew him in his childhood. He has a few piercings that he wears when not in Hogwarts, specifically his lip and his ears. His eyes are light blue, appearing to be ice blue or even gray blue in the right lighting. He usually wears dark clothes, but can be seen in various styles. He doesn't pay particular attention to how he dresses, so never seems to have a "fit" style.

PERSONALITY:
Raven can seem very pleasant or very unpleasant depending on who he is interacting with. He loves to cause arguments, chaos, and he thoroughly enjoys ruining other peoples lives. He will often scope out a group of people to find the most vulnerable person to single out and to that one person, he will make himself seem like the most friendly and pleasant person in the world. He has had several "best friends" throughout his life. (They thought he was their "best" friend, anyway) He made a point to ruin their lives as well as he could, and is arrogant enough to wonder if it had a lasting effect on them. Raven has a big ego, and the smallest blow to it can damage it. When his ego has been damaged, he often becomes impulsive and violent. That's not to say he's only impulsive when angry. Raven is impulsive most of the time. He often seems to react on instinct alone, no matter how primal it is.

Raven is brutally honest and not afraid to speak his mind. He has an opinion and though his opinions are usually the least popular ones, he will not hesitate to let people hear them. He can be foul mouthed sometimes, and has often gotten into trouble at Hogwarts for swearing. He is a trouble maker and has been known to spend his share of time in detention. His crimes rank from things as small as skipping class, to more serious infractions such as bullying. He has a dark sense of humor that usually only other Slytherins understands. Raven is often described as socially strange as he will overact in social situations.

HISTORY
Raven was born to Suzanna Thomas, the result of a one night stand with a famous musician. Suzanna never tried to track Raven's father down, and therefore raised her son on her own as a single mother. She was never that wealthy, struggling to keep a job through their lives. Raven's start to life, for this reason, was rough. Suzanna was what Muggles often refer to as a "rolling stone". She rarely stayed in one place too long, and had a different boyfriend every week. Suzanna was 25 when she gave birth to Raven, but anyone who didn't know her would have guessed that she was younger. She wanted to give Raven a unique name, and so when she named him, she pulled a random book from a Muggle bookshelf and used the first word she saw. The book she happened to grab contained The Raven. So, though Muggle stuff was not common in their house, Raven was familiar with the work from a young age.

For the first year of his life, Raven's grandmother aided in raising and rearing the child. However, she passed away shortly after his first birthday, leaving only him and his mother. He never had any aunts, uncles, or cousins to speak of. After her mother passed, Suzanna only got even more immature. She would spend most of her time at shows or at nightclubs and would leave Raven home alone with a different babysitter every night. He got used to the routine at a young age and did not question it until he was older. His mother grew progressively worse as time went by. Eventually, she picked up a drinking dependency and the men she began bringing home were getting shadier and shadier. Many of them would take to violence against both her and Raven. He, eventually, got used to seeing it.

His mother, feeling guilty about everything, would spoil him as best as she could. She could never offer him much, but when she had some money to offer, it was his. She has been known to cover up his wrongs for him so that he would not get into trouble. By eleven, he received his letter to Hogwarts. He was sorted into Slytherin, a decision he never really doubted. He hasn't done very well in Hogwarts, only get decent marks in a select few classes. He gets into trouble more often than not, and has spent most of his school time in detention.
