Learning the skills (yami)

[Danni Rogers]

Danni had asked professor Yami if she could use the bow and arrow for some extra practice and was happy when he agreed that she could. She walked out to the whomping willow, sure that no other student would be around this crazy tree. She sighed and looked down at the bow not quite sure what to do. She sat her bag down and looked at the bow once more.

Danni remembered that last time she had used the bow she had been pissed off. Her temper was always her weakness. The small movement in her bump made her sigh. If she needed to be angry to make the demon appear than that wouldn't be too hard. She closed her eyes and thought of the child growing inside her. Her boyfriend's brother's disapproval. The last fist fight she had had with him and his murder,

Danni could feel her temper boiling over as she thought about what Marcus had done. She should turn in him. But Marcus was right, it would just kill Lloyd if she did. Threw the confusion she became bitter. And of course pissed that there wasn't a damn thing she could do to make Lloyd happy. At least that's how it had felt the las time she had seen him.

The bow pulsed as a loud heart beat echoed through the air. The bow glowed bright red as waves of vile, malice, anger and hatred radiated from the bow. A demonic aurora flared from the bow as it it hovered up into the air. The crimson aurora erupted taking shape as the form of the Behemoth appeared. The demon pounded its chest roaring loudly at it towered over Danni. It slouched over using its giant fists for support, even slouched its height still towered over Danni.

Hageshi Kyouju growled down at Danni, its hair moving as it growled. The beasts blood red eyes stared down at Danni. The demon approached Danni till it was only a few inches from her, "Wielder wishes to learn. Hageshi Kyouju shall teach! Wielder shall know anger of behemoth!" hissed out the demon. It reared back onto its back legs and pounded its chest roaring loudly.

Danni watched as the bow started to pulsate a red demonic glow. She could hear a heart beat echo through the dawn air. She watched as the bow took shape of the demon. Danni did not flinch away from it even as it forwarded over her. Danni listened to the Behemoth speak unsure of what to say. She nodded "that would be great if you could." she said gently making sure to chose her words wisely.

Danni was not sure what to expect from the demon nor how where to start. She guessed her first question was how the Behemoth was going to help her when she used the bow. Would it always appear or would she be on her own? And when would he appear? Was he like a guardian that watched over her, that if she where to be injuries would be able to take her out of danger?

The beast snorted as Danni, "Silly young-ling. Hageshi Kyouju know thoughts. Hageshi Kyouju is teacher, Hageshi Kyouju is not guardian. Hageshi Kyouju will teach to use Behemoth power! You learn Behemoth Rage! With behemoth rage young-ling need no guardian! Young-ling be strongest there is!" said Hageshi Kyouju as he growed and clicked out each and every word. Hageshi Kyouju roared loudly and flared his magic as the crimson aurora encased him he pounded his chest and roared.

"RAGE! Greatest power of all! Rage is strength unlimited strength! Rage is strength of Behemoth! Angrier is stronger! Learn rage, learn strength!" said Hageshi Kyouju as he raised a fist and walked over to a boulder striking it and completely crushing it, "Hageshi Kyouju shall create demon core, to learn and master demon magic!"

Hageshi Kyouju slowly approached Danni and grunted as it stood over Danni closing its eyes concentrating. A demonic and vile magic erupted from Hageshi Kyouju body, it was black as night. The demonic energy flooded forward into Danni. The demonic energy lashed out at her own magical core forcibly removing part of it and generating a new core mixing her magic with the demon's own creating a darker core inside her, a core of pure demon energy.

"Human magic weak for Behemoth rage! Demon Magic is strongest!" said the beast as it stepped back, "New core is anger, it is your anger. New core your fury! Bring forth new energy!"

Danni listened to the behemoth but she couldn't help but feel....helpless. "but what if I did need help?" she asked "If I'm picked for the tri-wizard competition I don't want to be left for dead." she tried to explain while her hand went automatically to her bump of a stomach. She was of course caring for two life's and not just her own.

Danni listened and nodded to the Behemoth. Rage now that was something she could do. After all her temper seemed to get in her way a lot. She watched as some type of energy erupted from the Behemoth and forced it's way into her. Her eyes went wide as she gasped as her core was morphed with the demons.

Danni listened to the behemoth as he told her to bring forth her new core. She stared down at her hands. That meant she needed to get mad at something. Marcus Doom popped into her head. He had killed a innocent man in front of her. He had pushed her down. He had threatened to not only rip away Lloyd and her but also question he sexual idienty. Danni frowned as her brow creased. She could feel her temper rise. Oh how she just wanted to go up to Marcus and punch him in the face.

That's when she noticed the red aurora glowing around her. The same one that Yami had been able to pull out of her.

Yami was watching from a seated position in the air using wind magic to keep himself afloat, his legs crossed as he sat Indian style. He unfolded his legs and descended down from the sky landing next to the great behemoth with a loud thud as the ground cracked beneath him. Yami dusked his pants off, instead of black hakama pants and a black kimono top he wore a white set with a light blue obi sash around his waist instead of red. THe demon energy around Danni was growing thicker as the more she drew out, it started to take on a solid form. Yami appeared in front of her and he finger flicked Danni in the forehead softly using his own magic to cancel out her demonic energy.

"I'd be careful on how much you use to begin with. To much ad it'll become poisonous poisoning your organs before turning acidic and burning away your flesh. At your current level you should only bring out enough to give you a battle aurora" commented Yami as he summoned his own energy to demonstrate becoming encase in a light purple aurora that hovered around his body.

"Your friend forgot to mention but demon energy to humans is incredibly volatile and deadly. The more you draw out the more detailed it becomes" addressed Yami as he drew more out. Slowly the purple energy twisted darkening as a long snake like tail grew from his tail bone before splitting into eight. A snake head grew from the top of his head splitting apart into eight. The form of an eight headed eight tailed snake made of transparent energy formed around him. The ground around him seemed to smoke as the earth burned away rapidly.

The energy flooded back into his body as the form vanished, "While it offers you a major boost in power speed, endure, stamina, magic and strength wise it does have its drawbacks. At your level it would only be used as a last resort as it will leave you greatly drained" explained Yami

Danni had heard a thud when Yami landed. She wondered what he was doing here. She hadn't expected him to show up. When he stepped in front of her, her brow creased with confusion. But before she could ask him what he was doing here he had flicked her in the forehead. Danni's eyes went wide at the motion. "hey!" she said defensively.

Danni chewed the inside of her cheek as she watched and listened to Yami. Her eyes flashed up at the Behemoth every now and then to see what he was up too. "I don't understand." she said when Yami was finished. "if I was given great power why can't I use it now?" she asked feeling her temper almost flare. Her aoura flaring out with her temper. She watched as the red instantly turned a dark red. "I can't exactly control how much comes out anyways." she said with a shrug, as if it was no big deal.

Yami gave her a blank stare, "Have you ever heard the expression 'with great power comes great responsibility?'. Not everyone can be pleased with the energy of a demon. Only a handful of people are ever chosen. Many overuse it and they burn away from its dangerous properties as their bodies haven't yet adjusted to it. Like any source of power you must train yourself properly to use it appropriately. At most you can only use about a percent of your new abilities without killing yourself. This percent can only be used to strength your arrows or increase your physical abilities slightly" lectured Yami as he flicked her in the forehead again as her aurora flared using his magic to cancel it out.

"That is why you'll be receiving guidance from myself and Hageshi Kyouju. Hageshi will be your instructor for the behemoth techniques and I will be your instructor on how to control your demon energy properly and adjusting to it so you don't destroy yourself. If you pull to much out your entire body will be eaten by its acidic properties leaving you bed ridden for the rest of your life as small amounts remain in your organs eating away at them every day causing you nothing but pain" explained Yami before giving a sigh as he lifted a hand to rub his right temple.

"I understand you want to be strong to protect those you care about but if you go about it the wrong way you'll only end up causing more harm than good. That's why I'll be starting you off on the first exercise to controlling your secondary source of magic" said Yami as he dug into his pocket and withdrew a light bulb and held it up, on it were numerous runes and seals.

"This may look like an ordinary light bulb but the seals placed on it strengthen it and allow it to hold demon energy. The aim is to push the right amount into it to make it glow" said Yami as he let his demon magic flow forward lighting the light bulb up making a light purple light, "It has a set amount, use to much you'll get a bit of a shock, to little and it won't light up. When you get it to light up perfectly like this you'll know how much demon magic you are capable of using without killing yourself. This exercise also works with human magic as a control and flow exercise to allow you to get to know your magic and learn how to manipulate the flow of it"

The behemoth nodded its head in agreement, "Instructor of Knowledge knows what he speaks"

Danni stared at Yami emotionless. She knew he was right. The same old lecture about power and overusing it. Heck, power was what had killed her father. Yet some people got great power a didn't have to worry about responsibility....like Marcus Doom. The flick from Yami surprised her. Her eyes went wide at the touch as her magic was canceled out by his own.

Danni let out a breath that she hadnt even realized she had held in the whole time. She listened to Yami and nodded slowly. She watched as he rubbed his temples as if annoyed with her already. It was going to be a long long training if he was already annoyed with her. Her stubbornness did that to people.

Danni let a "pffft," escape her lips when the benemoth spoke but did not speak what she thought. Master of knowledge her butt. She thought to herself before taking the light bulb from Yami carefully in her hands. She turned it round, examining it before letting the new demon magic slowly flow threw her. She didn't want to be shocked but she wanted to know how much of this new magic she could use. Slowly she streamed the magic into the light bulb and watched as nothing happened.

"Maybe a little more?" Danni asked more to herself as she pushed the magic more forcefully into the bulb. She gasped as a small shock hit her hand. She nearly dropped the bulb from shock of the shock.

Yami sat down on the ground pulling out a back of hope brand Japanese cigarettes, some of the strongest around. He pulled out the death stick and slid it between his lips, lighting the end up with a spark of his fire magic. He laid back looking up at the sky just watching the cloud as Danni practice her demon magic control, Don't worry if you drop the bulb and break it I have plenty more in reserve that can be used" spoke Yami as he placed his hands behind his head and just watched the cloud relaxing, If you need any help feel free to ask"
